Job summary

Logisnext Americas Inc. in Houston is seeking a production supervisor to lead a manufacturing team in a daily non climate-controlled environment.

You will oversee a group of associates and crew leaders, drive safety, quality and on-time starts, and coach staff to meet production targets. Responsibilities include maintaining schedules, ensuring efficiency, supporting continuous improvement, and enforcing plant procedures; you will report to the Production Manager and help create a positive, safe

Qualifications

• 2+ years supervisory/crew leader experience.
• Ability to interpret blueprint and workflow documents.
• Ability to communicate to all levels from shop floor to management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic production tools.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, trains and evaluates the production staff to ensure quality products produced to specifications while maintaining a safe environment.
• Maintains production schedules to ensure workflow; collaborates with ME department to apply best practices.
• Monitors production process for labor and material efficiency; recommends process or equipment changes.
• Enforces safety and environmental policies; conducts safety trainings and inspections.
• Supports industrial relations by communicating plant procedures and policies.
• Provides emergency response to accidents in a safe and compliant manner.
• Achieves daily production targets and reports to the Production Manager.

About The Role

Supervises the assigned production area with a team of associates and crew leaders. Achieves KPI targets in Safety, Quality, Housekeeping, Training, OT control , on time starts and CSD as required in the business plan. Makes customer satisfaction and quality a major priority,communicating in both written and oral communication. Coaches and mentors Crew leaders, trains and evaluates the production staff to ensure quality products are produced according to specifications, while maintaining a safe and positive working environment . Achieving daily production targets , while reporting to Production manager.

What You Will Do

• Supervises, trains and evaluates the production staff to ensure quality products are produced according to specifications while maintaining a safe working environment.
• Maintain production schedules to ensure workflow process, works with the M.E department to insure that current, best practice is taking place in the work area.
• Monitors production process to ensure labor and material efficiency: makes recommendations for process/equipment changes to make improvements.
• Assists in establishing safety and environmental policies and procedures and ensure they are adhered to; provides safety training, conducts regular shift safety meetings and safety inspections.
• Performs Industrial Relations function by assisting in implementing and communicating plant procedures and policies to help provide a positive working environment.
• Provides emergency response to accidents to ensure they are handled in a safe, expedient and legal manner
• Complete annual goals as determined by Sr Manager of Manufacturing. Performs other duties as assigned.

When & Where

Onsite daily in Non climate-controlled manufacturing environment

Qualifications

What you need to have:

• Previous plant experience
• Previous supervisory and/or crew leader experience (2 years minimum)
• Ability to interpret blueprint and workflow documents
• Ability to communicate to all levels of people from shop floor to management
• Basic production equipment knowledge
• Microsoft Office

What Would Be Nice To Have

• Knowledge and skills related to six sigma and Lean Manufacturing
• BPCS system knowledge/ Factory Planner
• Project Management experience
