JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Function:

1. Supervision of Staff: Supervises the dispensing of all medications, including robotic cart fill, cabinet-based dispensing functions, and ensuring clean room procedures are maintained.
2. Scheduling: Coordinates pharmacy personnel scheduling to provide 24-hour service, including problem solving and role rearrangements during short-staff situations.
3. Staff Orientation: Performs employee orientation on all job functions, completes documentation, and conducts 3-month evaluations. Continues to meet with employees to discuss issues and promote advancement.
4. Staff Evaluations: Participates in annual evaluations and addresses performance and discipline issues throughout the year.
5. Staff Education: Provides ongoing training and cross-training on new functions and technologies. Keeps staff informed about upcoming programs and encourages participation.
6. Regulatory Compliance: Maintains knowledge of standards and regulations, ensures proper documentation, and prepares for regulatory agency inspections. Supports medication and patient safety initiatives.
7. Committee Participation: Attends meetings and serves as a representative for pharmacy interests.
8. Pharmacy Initiatives: Acts as a staff Pharmacist, supports department and organizational initiatives, assists with financial management, and takes on new responsibilities independently.
9. Specialty - Overnight Supervisor: Oversees pharmacy operations during overnight shifts, including main pharmacy, IV room, narcotic vault, and Emergency Department Satellite, to ensure optimal patient care.
10. Teamwork: Supports departmental goals, assists staff, remains flexible, and promotes communication and best practices across campuses.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Active registration and licensure with the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy.
• Minimum of 2 years hospital pharmacy experience; management experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; excellent communication, supervisory, and teaching skills.
