JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Function: 01. Supervision of Staff: supervises the dispensing of all medications, including robotic cart fill, cabinet based dispensing functions and ensuring clean room procedures are maintained. Job Function: 02. Scheduling: Coordinates all pharmacy personnel scheduling to provide 24 hour service. This includes creative problem solving and rearrangement of positions during short staff situations. Job Function: 03. Staff Orientation: Performs orientation of employees in all job functions and requirements listed on the orientation checklist. Completes documentation and 3 month evaluation. Continues to meet with employees to discuss issues and promote advancement. Job Function: 04. Staff Evaluations: Actively participates in annual evaluations and works with employees throughout the year handling performance and discipline issues. Job Function: 05. Staff Education: Provides continual training and cross training to employees on new job functions and technology. Informs staff of new and/or upcoming programs and promotes participation. Job Function: 06. Regulatory Compliance: Demonstrates knowledge of standards and regulations and maintains proper documentation. Assures readiness with all regulatory agencies and compliance with department, hospital, and AHS policies and procedures. Assists in the documentation, implementation, and monitoring of medication and patient safety initiatives. Job Function: 07.Commitee Participation: Attends meetings and/or committees as a representative for pharmacy and pharmacy interests. Job Function: 08. Pharmacy Initiatives: Functions as a staff Pharmacist, supports and actively participates in department and AHS initiatives. Assists with department financial management activities. Seeks opportunities to work independently on projects and takes on new responsibilities. Job Function: 09. Specialty: Overnight Supervisor: Oversees operational workflow of pharmacy team in the main pharmacy, IV room, narcotic vault and Emergency Department Satellite to ensure optimal patient care. Job Function: 10. Teamwork. Supports the departmental goals as a team player by assisting staff members and being flexible in roles and responsibilities. Complies with departmental coverage guidelines. Actively supports the Atlantic Health strategic goals. Supports cross campus communications and sharing of best practices.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Atlantic Health System Pharmacy Departments service multiple outpatient areas, including several infusion centers, retail pharmacy services, and health clinics. At Morristown Medical Center and Newton Medical Center we have full-service retail pharmacies. They provide prescription medication services to patients and the local community in a convenient location on the first floor of the hospital, inside the Corner Store Gift Shop at Morristown and behind the coffee shop at Newton adjacent to the main entrance. A convenient service provided in our retail pharmacies is having your prescriptions you receive at discharge filled and ready for pick-up before you leave to go home. That means the discharge process will be a little easier for you and your family or friends since there is no need to stop at your retail pharmacy on the way home. The Pharmacy Department also works with physicians and nurses to ensure that medications used at Atlantic Health System are safe and effective. Pharmacists are integrated into your care teams to provide real time medication information and help you get the most benefit from your medications.
