Job summary

Sotera Health is seeking a seasoned People Operations Supervisor to optimize the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring a seamless, compliant experience. You will guide the People Operations team, prioritize workload, and partner with HR stakeholders to drive service excellence.

You will lead process improvements, support HRIS enhancements, and help standardize documentation, policies, and KPIs to enable scalable operations across our organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of Human Resources or People Operations experience.
• 2+ years of people leadership in HR focusing on engagement and results.
• Experience managing and improving HR processes across the employee lifecycle.
• Proven cross-functional collaboration with teams and departments.
• Experience with data analysis and HR metrics-based decision making.
• Preferred experience with Workday.

Responsibilities

This role partners closely with HR stakeholders to enhance operational effectiveness, support continuous improvement, and help align People Operations activities with broader HR organizational goals.Job ResponsibilitiesOversee daily People Operations activities, ensuring a seamless and positive employee experience across the full lifecycle (e.g., onboarding, offboarding).Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and workload prioritization for members of the People Operations team to ensure efficient service delivery and alignment with team goals.Proactively identify, recommend, and implement improvements to HR processes and workflows that increase efficiency, strengthen compliance, improve data accuracy, and enhance the employee experience.Support HRIS process and system enhancements across the employee lifecycle by partnering with stakeholders to implement system updates, improve workflows, and leverage automation and AI to streamline and optimize People Operations.Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices are maintained, compliant with applicable laws and regulations, and consistently applied; support updates and documentation as needed.Identify opportunities to improve and standardize documentation practices, and partner with manager and team members to develop, maintain, and enhance SOPs, process documentation, and internal knowledge resources that support operational consistency and scalability.Partner with manager to establish, monitor, and analyze SLAs and KPIs, using data and insights to identify gaps, recommend improvements, and support a proactive, service-oriented approach to People Operations.Support and contribute to cross-functional HR initiatives and projects, including process improvements, system implementations, and policy updates that enhance organizational effectiveness.Ensure high-quality service delivery and resolution of employee and stakeholder inquiries by leveraging established procedures, policies, and knowledge management tools.Maintain confidentiality and ensure adherence to data privacy and compliance requirements in all People Operations activities.QualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field.Professional in Human Resources (SHRM-CP, PHR) certification a plus.Experience:Minimum 5 years of Human Resources or People Operations.2+ years of people leadership experience of an HR function with a focus on driving engagement and resultsExperience in managing and improving HR processes throughout the employee life cycle.Proven track record of working cross-functionally with teams and departments.Experience in data analysis and using HR metrics to drive decision-making.Preferred experience with Workday.Key Skills and Competencies:Strong problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills.Skilled at managing competing priorities, multitasking, and ensuring efficient time management.Proven track record of achieving goals through others by providing clear direction, motivating teams, and fostering an environment of empowerment and collaboration.Excellent communicator with the ability to build authentic and trusting relationships, effectively influence leadership, and drive alignment across all levels of the organization.Demonstrated flexibility in adapting to a wide variety of tasks and functions.Knowledge of compliance requirements, HR policies, and regulations.Sotera Health goes to market through its three best-in-class businesses – Sterigenics, Nordion and Nelson Labs.
