This role is responsible for the success of front-end registration and scheduling, focusing on delivering an extraordinary patient experience. The supervisor has day-to-day operational oversight for personnel management, quality assurance, resource management, implementing change, and providing occasional frontline coverage. Oversight includes patient check-in/out, front-end insurance verification, compliance data entry/quality, outbound scheduling calls, point-of-service collections, and occasional frontline coverage.

We are seeking a Supervisor with a strong background in Patient Access, preferably in a hospital and inpatient Admitting setting. The candidate will lead our patient access team for our new inpatient facility in Orange County. The ideal candidate will support the new facility opening, ensuring seamless implementation of team workflows, system integration, and compliance with regulatory and financial policies.

As a successful candidate, you will:
Personnel Management
  • Achieve human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning work, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; administering timekeeping system; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Develop a culture of pride and ownership, providing opportunities for learning and growth. Ensure appropriate staffing levels, reassess staffing needs, and monitor overtime. Schedule work to ensure coverage during regular hours and absences. Provide timely decisions and direction to streamline workflow and improve efficiency.
Quality Assurance
  • Monitor staffing productivity and quality, provide feedback, and implement quality control audits to maintain standards. Establish and foster excellent customer service practices, supporting patients, caregivers, providers, and staff. Oversee communication and feedback systems, respond to and resolve problems and complaints.
Change Management
  • Support strategic initiatives such as improving patient access and satisfaction, and implementing new systems. Manage change to meet strategic outcomes.
Resource Management
  • Assess and streamline processes, implement standard work, monitor metrics, and coordinate meetings. Maintain equipment, evaluate upgrades, and implement new technology. Provide expertise in applications and act as a catalyst for change.
Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • Associates Degree (3 additional years of experience plus minimum experience may substitute for minimum education).
  • 3+ years of patient access experience, preferably in an ambulatory setting.
  • 1+ years of healthcare experience as a lead or supervisor.
  • Preferably: Bachelor's Degree, Six Sigma yellow or green belt.
