This role is responsible for coordination and supervision of the financial counseling team. This supervisor will oversee daily operations for Financial Counseling, ensuring quality assurance, resource management, implementing change, and providing frontline coverage.

Seeking a Financial Counseling Supervisor with a strong background in Patient Access, preferably in a hospital and inpatient Admitting setting. To lead our financial counseling team for our new inpatient facility in Orange County. The ideal candidate will support the new facility opening, ensuring seamless implementation of workflows, system integration, and compliance with policies.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  1. Personnel Management
  2. Achieve HR objectives through recruiting, training, coaching, and managing staff; monitor staffing levels and reassign work as needed; oversee case management and referrals; collaborate with Patient Business Services; guide financial assistance applications; manage drug assistance programs; supervise Medi-Cal disenrollments; provide staff training; maintain professional relationships; serve as external liaison; monitor and audit processes; ensure policy compliance; perform additional duties; oversee Medi-Cal extension of care.
  3. Quality Assurance
  4. Monitor staffing productivity, implement quality audits, foster excellent customer service, and address complaints effectively.
  5. Change Management
  6. Support strategic initiatives, improve patient access and satisfaction, and manage change effectively.
  7. Resource Management
  8. Streamline processes, implement standard work, monitor metrics, oversee equipment and technology upgrades, and facilitate change to meet business needs.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree (additional experience may substitute for education)
  • 7+ years of experience in Financial Counseling and/or Patient Access, preferably in ambulatory settings
  • 2+ years in healthcare as a lead or supervisor
  • Preferably: Bachelor's Degree; Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt
