Job description

Job Overview

The Supervisor of Patient Access manages the daily operations of the department to ensure timely and efficient patient throughput while providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities include supervising staff, creating schedules, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and supporting team leadership. The role involves completing Patient Access functions daily and maintaining departmental standards.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma
  • Knowledge of registration, insurance verification, authorization requirements, billing regulations, and state programs such as Charity Care
Preferred Qualifications
  • College degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of Patient Access experience and 3 years of leadership experience
Schedule
  • Day shift, 7:00am - 3:00pm
  • Monday through Friday; weekends/holidays may be required
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure accuracy of registrations and correct errors
  • Enforce departmental policies and support staff education
  • Review system alerts and improve registration accuracy
  • Oversee staff training, onboarding, and performance
  • Manage staffing levels and provide on-call support
  • Monitor key performance indicators and develop improvement plans
  • Communicate policies and updates effectively
  • Maintain open communication with management
  • Supervise department functions and staff development
  • Review work for accuracy and provide feedback
  • Promote a positive environment aligned with organizational goals

Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
