Job summary

Loews Hotels & Co is seeking a Pastry Supervisor for the Universal Orlando property. You will oversee pastry production, mentor the pastry team, and collaborate with the Pastry Chef to craft desserts that meet luxury standards.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years of high-volume pastry experience, precise technique, and a passion for innovative presentation. This on-site role requires flexibility for nights, weekends and holidays in a demanding hotel kitchen.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years Baking/Pastry experience in a high-volume hotel or freestanding restaurant.
  • Advanced hands-on pastry execution including precision piping, artistic cake decoration, chocolate and sugar showpiece elements, and refined plated dessert presentation.
  • Ability to perform under high standards and service pressure while maintaining immaculate workstation organization and adherence to luxury brand expectations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally with team members, leaders and guests required.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, nights, weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of all pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
  • Enforce recipes, portion control, and consistency standards.
  • Collaborate with the Pastry Chef to develop new items and seasonal menus.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor pastry team members to maintain high performance.
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
  • Create schedules that ensure optimal staffing during peak periods.
  • Monitor inventory and coordinate ordering to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of production, waste, and food costs.
  • Fulfill special dietary requests and custom dessert orders.
  • Monitor guest feedback and collaborate on improvements.
  • Work closely with other kitchen departments to support events and services.
  • Report equipment maintenance needs promptly.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with standards.
  • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
  • Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
