Role Purpose Statement

As an Operations Supervisor - Transportation, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless execution of transportation operations by leading and supervising a team of drivers and driver assistants. You will be responsible for maintaining efficiency, ensuring on-time deliveries, and upholding the highest safety and compliance standards. Your role will include managing daily workflow, conducting team meetings, monitoring financial goals, and ensuring adherence to government regulations, including DOT, OSHA, FDA, and USDA requirements. You will also drive continuous improvement by implementing process enhancements, optimizing labor and productivity, and fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence.

Main Accountabilities
  1. Responsible for supervising drivers and driver assistants
  2. Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, and directed, and that all delivery times are met timely
  3. Conduct daily work group meetings
  4. Maintain all financial goals related to material, productivity, overtime, and labor
  5. Check dock area to ensure employees have required equipment and trucks leave according to schedule
  6. Ensure all teams are catering correct aircraft and flights
  7. Ensure all employees comply with safety procedures and Airport Transport Authority badging requirements
  8. Ensure compliance with all government regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, HACCP)
  9. Document and follow up on all department processes to implement improvements
  10. Ensure on-time and accurate production and catering of all flights
  11. Other duties as necessary
Leadership
  • Guide, motivate, and develop staff
  • Perform performance evaluations, coaching, counseling, and prepare corrective actions; liaise with HR and support functions
  • Manage productivity hours and costs; initiate corrective actions
  • Support initiatives such as Quality, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety, and Production systems
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Associates/Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • One to three years supervisory experience in high-volume manufacturing, food production, catering, or similar environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to manage 20+ employees
  • Comfortable with all employee levels and driving positive change
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback daily
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, GMP, FDA, USDA, and EPA regulations
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational skills; ability to multi-task
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications
