Job summary

Crown Castle International is seeking an Operations Supervisor for Contract Operations (M1) in Atlanta. The role leads a team focused on data integrity, contracts input, and financial accuracy within Crown’s ERP system.

Requires 3+ years in accounting/finance with management experience and a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance. Hybrid work with Mon–Thu in office and optional Friday remote. Reports to Manager Property Management Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages resources and processes for a team of administrators and account analysts.
  • Manages the process to promote efficiency, accuracy and identification of anomalies.
  • Responsible for issue resolution and coordination or escalation of issues or questions to Legal, Accounting, Real Estate, Sales & Client Services, and other contract-related teams.
  • Has a thorough understanding of the expense and/or revenue related processes to respond to inquiries and provide guidance to the team when needed.
  • Prioritizes work effort for team members and shifts staff responsibilities as necessary to respond to large projects, acquisitions or general volume.
  • Reviews operational and data quality reports weekly and monthly to ensure they provide an accurate picture of all processes and that errors are corrected in a timely manner.
  • Ensures team members are trained to review contracts and input data resulting in high financial data quality.
  • Manages data generated and maintained by the department and provides commentary in monthly financial review meetings.
  • Manages complex business transactions including intercompany relationships and special entity relationships.

Job Overview

Position Title: Supervisor Operations – Contract Operations (M1)

Role: The Operations Supervisor oversees a large and dynamic group of professionals, including Commencement and Data Integrity teams. The Commencement team is primarily responsible for abstracting data points from new executed legal documentation and entering the information into Crown’s ERP system. The Data Integrity teams are primarily responsible for ensuring accuracy of the monthly escalation, data corrections, and the reconciliation processes, as well as monthly quality reporting, trend reporting analysis and data quality projects. The Operations Supervisor also oversees the design and implementation of processes and reporting to ensure that data is properly maintained in Crown’s financial system, resulting in accurate billing, payments, P&L, balance sheet and lease accounting entries. The Supervisor’s department will focus on an area of concentration within the revenue or expense field and will focus on initial document integration or quality assurance, reconciliation and data correction.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for issue resolution and coordination or escalation of issues or questions to Legal, Accounting, Real Estate (CCRE), Sales & Client Services, and other contract‑related teams.
  • Has a thorough understanding of the expense and/or revenue related processes to respond to inquiries and provide guidance to the team when needed.
  • Prioritizes work effort for team members and shifts staff responsibilities as necessary to respond to large projects, acquisitions or general volume.
  • Reviews operational and data quality reports weekly and monthly to ensure they provide an accurate picture of all processes and that errors and omissions are corrected accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that team members have been properly trained to review contracts and input data that results in a high level of financial expertise and data quality within the department.
  • As the business process owner, the manager owns the data generated and maintained by their department, researches and makes necessary corrections via appropriate data correction processes for issues identified on financial monthly review reports and straight‑line error reports, and provides commentary in the monthly financial review meeting.
  • Manages the flow, establishes policy and oversees controls for complicated business transactions, including intercompany relationships, land purchased under non‑Crown assets, nuanced agreements inherited in multiple acquisitions, aggregator agreements, and special entity relationships. The manager has the ability to identify, quantify and manage the impact of these items that fall outside of the norm and outside of established processes.
  • Works with the manager to ensure ongoing accuracy of SOX process maps and control documentation.
  • Works with internal and external auditors to answer inquiries or provide data to satisfy control requirements.
  • Drives team members to be customer‑obsessed.
Expectations
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills – advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (communicates effectively).
  • JDE database structure, JDE Property Management tables, JDE Address Book preferred.
  • Ability to oversee resources while contributing to overall group work product (drives results).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities (manages complexity).
Education / Certifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
Experience / Minimum Requirements
  • Three (3) years accounting/finance, real estate and/or related experience.
  • Three (3) years management experience preferred.
  • Previous experience working with accounting/finance and real estate.
  • Understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) preferred.

Reports to: Manager Property Management Operations

Title(s) of direct reports: Project Coordinator(s), Account Analyst(s)

Working Conditions

This role falls into our hybrid work model, working in the office Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home. There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel.
