Job summary

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Bradenton, FL, seeks a Supervisor of Transport and Tech Assistance to lead the Transport and Assistant Teams under Imaging supervision. You will ensure patient transport, pre-screening, IV starts, and clerical duties support the Imaging department while maintaining safety and quality goals.

The role requires a high school diploma, prior hospital/clinical background, BLS certification, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Previous hospital/clinical background preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use hospital information systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities of Transport and Assistant Teams under Imaging supervision.
• Coordinate patient transport, pre-screening for procedures, IV starts and related clerical duties.
• Maintain safety and quality goals; ensure communication with radiology and other departments.
• Participate in quality improvement projects and department scheduling.

Job Overview

Under the direction of the Imaging supervisor, the Supervisor of Patient Transport and Tech Assistance will lead the daily activities of the Transport and Assistant Teams. Ensuring all Assistants and Transporters assist the Imaging teams in the performance of their duties directly involved with patient transport, patient care, pre-screening of patients for procedures, IV starts and clerical duties as needed to obtain safety and quality goals of the department. Maintains professional and cooperative interaction with all hospital departments. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

General Responsibilities

• Maintains current BLS Certification/Expiration date.
• Follows LWRMC Policy and Procedure for patient identification.
• Speaks to others using language appropriate to their age and knowledge.
• Speaks in appropriate volume and tone according to the patients' age and needs.
• Recognizes age specific safety issues, i.e. need for a wheelchair or medical assistance.
• Recognizes and performs basic care for each age group.
• Communicates appropriate information to the radiologist and other team members.
• Demonstrates ability to order, complete, cancel, and change exams in the computer system.
• Understands department scheduling and patient and/or procedure preparation instructions.
• Checks and maintains emergency drug box, wall oxygen, wall suction equipment and monitoring devices daily.
• Assists with quality improvement projects as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous Hospital and/or clinical background required
• Clinical/medical licensure equivalent preferred (EMT, Paramedic, Nure Assistant or firefighters MSC or FII Certification)
• BLS Certified
• Basic Computer Skills
