Job summary

Dignity Health - Mercy Medical Center in Merced, California, is seeking a Lab Supervisor to lead the department's goals, budget, and continuous improvement through performance evaluation and strategic planning. You will mentor the patient care team, support their growth, and drive high standards in communication, coaching, and policy implementation.

You will also ensure high-quality education services and supervise clinical educators.

Qualifications

• CLS:CA certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in biological or chemical sciences as defined by CLIA.
• Minimum of five years in a moderate/high complexity lab.
• Familiarity with financial management, HR, equipment management, quality management, physician relations, and workflow design.

Responsibilities

• Establish scheduling to meet standing commitments and manage workflow.
• Provide high-quality clinical education services.
• Write and obtain approval for SOPs related to Clinical Education functions.
• Supervise clinical educators, develop staff, and conduct performance reviews.

As a Lab Supervisor, you will be a pivotal leader, directly contributing to the development of annual departmental goals, objectives, and budget, while actively facilitating their achievement and ensuring ongoing evaluation of results for continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

Required

• Clinical Lab Scientist: CA (CLS:CA)
• Bachelor's degree in biological or chemical sciences, as defined by CLIA
• Minimum of five (5) years at a moderate or high complexity laboratory
• Familiarity with financial management, Human Resources, Equipment Management, Quality Management, Physician Relations, Workflow Design are key skills to be successful

Preferred

• One year experience as a supervisor or higher, preferred
