Job summary

Machinex Group in High Point, NC is seeking an Electrical Project Manager to oversee daily electrical installation work on industrial projects. You will supervise subcontractors, coordinate with the Project Manager and site team, and ensure timely delivery of electrical components.

The role requires 2–3 years of industrial electrical installation experience, leadership and autonomy, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. Occasional client visits in the US/Canada may be required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in electromechanics or electrical engineering related field.
• Experience leading teams and managing electrical installation projects.
• 2–3 years in electrical installation in an industrial setting.
• Willingness to visit clients in US/Canada/overseas (approximately 75%).
• Knowledge of electrical installation standards for US and international locales is a plus.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily electrical work on projects and ensure schedule adherence.
• Participate in site meetings, remotely or on site, to manage extraction requests.
• Coordinate with shipment leads, PM, and subcontractors to ensure component delivery.
• Provide technical guidance to electricians and support future installations.
• Assist in planning timelines and technical installation requirements.

• Following-up on electrical installation projects from order entry to attaining of the electrical installation certificate;
• Participating in the elaboration of the electrical installation schedule and in the planning of the work with his/her superior and with the Mechanical Installation Coordinator;
• Following-up with the person in charge of the electrical shipment and the Project Manager, to ensure that all external electrical components have been delivered to the site and are available for installation;
• Knowing the tender specifications submitted to the selected electrical subcontractors. The Project Manager must be familiar with the details of the technical installation specifications such as required authorizations received from the client, local/international standards and the enforcement of safety regulations in effect at each site.
• Overseeing electrical work on a daily basis in the various projects entrusted to him or her in order to answer questions, to regulate the enforcement of the tender quote, to supervise progress, to undertake the necessary corrective actions to ensure that the subcontractor complies with the schedule;
• Participating in site meetings on site or remotely. Ensures the follow-up, management, negotiation and approval of extraction requests by our subcontractors, clients and electrical project managers;
• Carrying out various electrical installation tasks such as wiring in electrical panels when required and participating in electro-mechanical start-up tests;
• Technically advising and questioning the team of electricians on their projects. Providing internal technical support for the electrical installation of equipment and participating in the improvement of future installations;
• Performing all other duties as requested by direct management and other associates.

Required Profile

• Minimum of a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Electromechanics or a College Diploma (DEC) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience directly related to the task may be considered;
• Good leadership, autonomy, ability to mobilize and motivate his or her team, as well as good decision-making and team management skills;
• 2 to 3 years related experience in the field of electrical installation in an industrial environment;
• Visits to clients (Canada, United States and Overseas) (approximately 75%);
• Basic knowledge of electrical installation standards (Canada, United States and international (Europe) would be a strong asset);
• Technical knowledge/components in automation and control (would be a strong asset);
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams.
