Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA is seeking a Supervisor of Nursing and Patient Care Services for the Catheterization and Vascular Lab. The RN supervisor will oversee staff, ensure safety and quality, and assist with budget and personnel processes.

This role requires BSN (MSN preferred), an active RN license, RCIS preferred, and 3–5+ years in cath/vascular settings, with prior leadership experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Supervise patient care staff to ensure safety and high-quality outcomes.

Start Time primarily 8am, but variable to 7am due to business needs.Call Schedule: On call is on as needed basis for back up and emergency as supervisor of department.Must be with 30 minutes of facility for any required call.The Supervisor, Nursing and Patient Care Services for acute care shares the 24/7 responsibility to assist the manager for the daily operations of one or more clinical areas. Supervises patient care services staff to ensure patient safety, provides high quality outcomes and an exceptional patient/family experience; assists manager in the development and monitoring of the departmental budget; coordinates the purchasing and payroll processes; serves as a technical/clinical resource to team members; and performs work assignments as needed to provide appropriate coverage and to mentor/assist staff. Assists manager with interviewing, hiring, developing, and retaining staff members with the goal of developing a highly reliable work team. May coordinate and/or assist with staff education, orientation and precepting of members of the team. Utilizes effective communication/ interpersonal skills and is able to adapt leadership style to support achieving department goals and objectives. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
