Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, Inc. seeks an experienced MRI Technologist to ensure patient and staff safety in a high‑field MRI environment. You will screen patients, operate MRI equipment, and tailor exams to individual medical needs under radiologist direction.

Requires 1–2 years MRI experience, ARRT credentials preferred, an associate degree in medical imaging, and strong communication skills for collaboration with physicians and care teams. Onsite position, 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Medical Imaging is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Registered Technologist with ARRT credentials preferred (MR ARRT).
  • MRI experience of 1-2 years with demonstrated leadership is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information to physicians, patients and colleagues while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Ensure the safety of MRI patients and staff in the high magnetic field environment.
  • Screen patients and staff for contraindications prior to entering the MRI room.
  • Operate MRI equipment as directed by the Radiologist in charge of each exam.
  • Utilize surface coils, cardiac/respiratory gating and patient monitoring equipment.
  • Tailor exams to each patient and their medical problem using independent judgment.

Job Summary

Responsible for the safety of their patients and colleagues in their designated work area and takes corrective action when necessary to maintain such safety.

Essential Functions
  • Provides accurate information to physicians, patients, and employees while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Ensures the safety of each MRI patient and medical staff while in the high magnetic field environment.
  • Screens patients and other medical staff prior to entering the magnetic exam room for potential contraindications, which may be harmful to the patient, staff, or the MRI equipment.
  • Operates all MRI equipment necessary to complete examinations as directed by the Radiologist in charge of each exam.
  • Utilizes a variety of surface coils, pulse gating, cardiac gating, respiratory gating, and patient monitoring equipment.
  • Using independent judgment, tailors exams to each patient and their particular medical problem.
