Job summary

Mass General Brigham Home Care, Inc. seeks an experienced MRI Technologist to operate MRI equipment and produce diagnostic scans while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include patient positioning, room preparation, procedure explanation, and QA on MRI equipment, with licensing and ARRT MRI credentials preferred. Work location at 399 Revolution Drive, Somerville, MA.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree Diagnostic Imaging required.
• MRI Technologist credentials: ARRT MRI preferred.
• CPR/BLS credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Position patients and immobilize for optimal MRI quality.
• Prepare patients and scanner room; assist with transfers.
• Explain procedures considering patient needs and concerns.
• Perform daily QA on MRI scanners and report malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate patient and procedure records.
• May assist in training new staff or students.

Job Summary

Responsible for providing quality patient care while producing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures safely while operating the MRI equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans.

Essential Functions

• Accountable for the positioning and immobilization of patients and proper selection of technical factors along with computer reformatting of acquired data to obtain magnetic resonance scans procedures of optimal quality.
• Prepares patients for procedures which may include transporting, transferring, immobilizing, and positioning patients.
• Explains procedures to patients taking into consideration physical and emotional needs
• Prepares and cleans the equipment and scanner room for each patient. Stocks and supplies room as needed
• Performs daily quality assurance on MRI scanners and verifies the safe operation of all other patient equipment and notifies appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and needed repairs
• Maintains pertinent records
• May provide assistance to new staff or students

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree Diagnostic Imaging required

Licenses and Credentials

• Radiologic Technologist and Technician [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
• Registered Technologist [R.T.(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred
• Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging [R.T.(MR)(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred
• Personal Drivers License (New Hampshire) - New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles preferred
• Magnetic Resonance Technologist [MRI - New Hampshire] - New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy preferred

Experience

• MRI Tech experience with multiple patient populations 2-3 years required

Pay Range

• Min: $65.00
• Mid: $80.00
