Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an experienced MRI Supervisor to lead MRI services and a team focused on exceptional patient care and teamwork.

Reporting to the Director of Cardiology & Radiology, you will develop people, build strong teams, and foster an environment where patients and staff thrive.

Qualifications

  • Current registration as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) through ARRT is required.
  • ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance (MR) is required.
  • Current Maine State Radiologic Technologist license is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification preferred.
  • Five or more years of MRI experience preferred.
  • Two or more years of leadership experience within MRI or medical imaging services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership and oversight of MRI services, coordinating staffing, workflow, and resources for safe, efficient patient care.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and evaluate MRI staff with clear expectations and teamwork.
  • Serve as the MR Safety Officer and support MRI safety practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Remain engaged in clinical operations and perform staff responsibilities as needed.
  • Coordinate patient care with radiologists, physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare team members to promote efficient care and positive outcomes.
  • Lead the resolution of complex operational issues and service-related challenges.
  • Support equipment quality control, maintenance, and troubleshooting while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with leadership to identify opportunities to improve workflows and expand access.
  • Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and exceptional customer service in MRI operations.

Job Summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an experienced MRI Supervisor to provide leadership for our MRI services and a team committed to exceptional patient care, customer service, and supporting one another. Reporting to the Director of Cardiology & Radiology, you'll have the opportunity to lead with autonomy while receiving the support and development needed to grow as a leader. Job Description

What You'll Do


  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership and oversight of MRI services, coordinating staffing assignments, workflow, and resources to support safe, efficient patient care.

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and evaluate MRI staff, establishing clear expectations while fostering teamwork, accountability, engagement, and professional development.

  • Serve as the MR Safety Officer (MRSO) and support MRI safety practices, policies, education, and regulatory requirements.

  • Remain engaged in clinical operations and perform staff responsibilities as needed to maintain appropriate service levels and support the team.

  • Coordinate patient care with radiologists, physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team to promote efficient care delivery and positive patient outcomes.

  • Lead the resolution of complex operational issues, patient concerns, and service‑related challenges.

  • Support equipment quality control, maintenance, and troubleshooting while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.

  • Partner with department and organizational leadership to identify opportunities to improve workflows, expand access, and strengthen the patient and employee experience.

  • Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service throughout MRI operations.


What You'll Bring


  • Current registration as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.

  • ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance (MR) required.

  • Current Maine State Radiologic Technologist license required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification preferred.

  • Five or more years of MRI experience preferred.

  • Two or more years of leadership experience within MRI or medical imaging services preferred.

  • Ability to effectively lead, mentor, and empower staff while creating an environment of collaboration, accountability, and teamwork.

  • Strong working relationships and communication skills with administrators, radiologists, physicians, clinical staff, and other organizational partners.

  • Strong organizational, administrative, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities.

  • Self‑directed and motivated, with a strong understanding of the responsibilities and expectations of a healthcare leadership role.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and applicable clinical and imaging technologies.

Compensation Information

$95,000 - $115,000 The salary range shown reflects the base salary for this position. Individual compensation is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations.
