Job summary

Singer Vehicle Design in Carson, CA is seeking a Supervisor, Material Operations to lead the Inventory, Transport, Shipping and Receiving teams. You will implement best-practices for warehouse logistics, monitor stocking levels, and mentor direct reports in a fast-paced automotive environment.

This onsite role requires an Associate degree or higher, at least five years in a Production Coordinator or Material Generalist role, and one year of leadership.

• Bonus: experience with MRP systems like Infor or related software.

Responsibilities

• Approve timecards, schedule, conduct reviews, and mentor direct reports.

• Maintain stocking levels and support safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Interface with Quality Control, Transportation, Planning, Purchasing, and other departments to resolve material receipt and distribution issues.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

• Manage a team responsible for the receiving, storage, kitting, and distribution of inventory, including delivery and collection from local vendors.
• Your goal is to ensure the smooth, damage-free, and cost-efficient material flow to support our operations in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.”

What You’ll Do:

• Perform administrative duties, including but not limited to approving timecards, scheduling, conducting reviews, maintaining stocking levels of supplies, and one-on-one mentoring and training of direct reports
• Implement best-practices for warehouse logistics, shipping, and receiving, including but not limited to transportation options, packaging requirements, routing, etc.
• Support and maintain metric goals and objectives for the Inventory teams
• Conduct regular safety walk-throughs, addresses safety issues, and promotes safety policies
• Interface with Quality Control, Transportation, Planning, Purchasing, and other related departments to resolve problems relative to receipt and distribution of material
• Be the point position for area audits and other compliance requirements
• Ensure maintenance of a clean and organized work area by making continuous improvements to workspace design
• Supervise the Inventory, Transport, Shipping and Receiving teams
• Foster an environment where change is embraced and ideas are respected, supported, vetted, and ultimately implemented (when appropriate)
• Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment

Who We’re Looking For:

• Has an Associate’s Degree or higher
• Five (5) years minimum experience in a Production Coordinator or Material Generalist position
• Minimum one (1) year of leadership experience
• Bonus points for experience with MRP systems like Infor
• Bonus points for experience in the aerospace or automotive industry
• Bonus points for experience in a rapid growth environment

Location & Schedule:

This position is onsite in Caron, CA and the schedule is Monday – Friday 5am – 1:30pm.

The starting pay range for this position is between $86,953 - 108,691 per year plus bonus. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
