JOB SUMMARY

The Supervisor, Manufacturing Training leads the execution of training programs that support the development, compliance, and performance of manufacturing team members. This position manages a team of training professionals and directly oversees their day-to-day work, performance, and development. The Supervisor, Manufacturing Training partners with business leaders to identify training needs, ensure staff readiness, and drive continuous improvement in training and performance effectiveness.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Training Program Oversight

  1. Develops, implements, and manages effective training programs that ensure employees are fully trained before performing job duties.
  2. Schedules, assigns, and tracks training sessions and ensures accurate training completions are issued to participants.
  3. Analyzes training and performance gaps in collaboration with operational managers and recommends appropriate interventions.
  4. Maintains complete and compliant training records and documentation.
  5. Develops and deploys Just-in-Time Training to promote immediate awareness and response to updated process, issue, deviation, or performance gap.

Team Development

  1. Directly supervises, coaches, and develops a team of training staff.
  2. Provides performance feedback, conducts regular one-on-ones, and leads development planning for direct reports.
  3. Collaborates with SMEs and certified instructors within the organization to deliver consistent, high-quality training.

Compliance & Regulatory Support

  1. Provides expert guidance on deviation processes, compliance, and regulatory issues.
  2. Participates in internal and external audits and inspections, providing training records and supporting documentation.
  3. Assists in evaluating human-error related incidents to determine whether retraining or new training is required.

Collaboration & Communication

  1. Communicates training needs and performance insights to department leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
  2. Routinely reviews and trends data, reporting results and improvement opportunities to leadership.
  3. Meets regularly with cross-functional teams to maintain alignment and promote a collaborative culture.
  4. Supports new hire onboarding and coordinates smooth transitions from training environments to production areas.

SKILLS

  1. Strong influencing and communication skills with all organizational levels.
  2. Effective technical writing and documentation abilities.
  3. Skilled in analyzing processes, troubleshooting performance issues, and implementing training solutions.
  4. Competent in project and resource management, with ability to balance priorities and deadlines.
  5. Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  6. Proficiency with the Learning Management System (LMS) and training analytics.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  1. Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years or Master’s degree with 5+ years of directly related experience in manufacturing, operations, or training.
  2. Equivalent education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.
  3. Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.

COMPENSATION

$94,000 - $129,250
