Job summary

Qnity is seeking a day-to-day Supervisor, Manufacturing Operations (Compounding) to lead a production shift on site at the Newark, DE facility. You will coach the team, enforce safety and quality standards, and drive on-time delivery through effective staffing and resource planning.

You will partner with leaders to align with business strategy, recognize performance, and implement continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a positive, inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, military, or similar setting.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and operations.
  • Knowledge of process safety and personal safety principles.
  • Experience using digital tools and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coaches, develops and provides performance feedback to team members to build capabilities and improve effectiveness.
  • Hires, retains and develops talent to meet current and future capabilities; promotes diversity and inclusion.
  • Plans shift activities and resources to optimize production in line with goals; communicates shift performance and outcomes.
  • Ensures work is completed per published schedule and aligns with site goals.
  • Manages staffing levels and controls controllable costs (overtime, supplies).
  • Leaves and implements Leader Standard Work and continuous improvement practices.

Supervisor, Manufacturing Operations (Compounding) Leadership & Culture Embraces and role models Qnity Core Values Responsible for coaching and holding team accountable for safety, behavior, performance, and quality Coaches, develops and provides performance feedback to team members to build capabilities, align on expectations and improve team effectiveness Hires, retains and develops talent to meet current and future capabilities; Promotes a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment Partners with leaders to stay informed of the business strategy and needs Initiates awards and recognition for individuals and/or teams, and celebrates areas' accomplishments Addresses employee relations and performance issues effectively during the shift Production & Operations Plans shift activities and resources to optimize performance in line with production goals; Communicates shift performance (safety, production, quality, etc.) goals, metrics and outcomes to team members; Builds an understanding of the team's contribution to the shift/site/business goals Effectively communicate and implement site directions and messages to team ensuring the work alignment is clear Ensures work is completed per published schedule Organizes and manages staffing levels to ensure adequate support for production needs Monitors and makes adjustments to controllable costs for shift (i.e. overtime, operating supplies) Completes Leader Standard Work practices, including frequent line walks Continuous Improvement Operates with Excellence by engaging team members to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, eliminate waste, remove barriers, and build a sense of ownership and pride Facilitates team processes, including problem solving and issue resolution Safety, Quality & Compliance Leads or participates in EHS & Quality investigations and determines appropriate corrective action Ensures employees comply with established Standard Operating Procedures Knowledge of process safety and personal safety principles Administration & Communication Documents and completes administrative requirements timely and efficiently Effectively communicate and implement site directions and messages to team ensuring the work alignment is clear Schedule Flexibility Able to provide coverage on weekends, evenings, nights, and holidays as scheduled, on a regular basis; Able to work overtime as needed.

Hours and Shift

This is a day shift leadership position supporting a continuous manufacturing operation. The First Line Leader is expected to maintain a regular presence on the production floor and will be required to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, holidays, and overtime, to support business needs, production requirements, and employee development. #LI-LA1 #On-site #Newark,DE
