Job summary

Qnity, a global leader in advanced electronics materials, is seeking a day-shift Supervisor for Manufacturing Operations (Compounding) at its Newark, DE site. You will lead safety, quality and productivity on the production floor, coaching teams and ensuring adherence to Lean principles.

The role requires 2+ years in industrial/manufacturing settings, knowledge of lean, process safety and digital tools, plus ability to work weekends and overtime as needed. Associate or bachelor degree preferred.

Production & Operations

• Plans shift activities and resources to optimize performance in line with production goals; Communicates shift performance (safety, production, quality, etc.) goals, metrics and outcomes to team members; Builds an understanding of the team's contribution to the shift/site/business goals
• Effectively communicate and implement site directions and messages to team ensuring the work alignment is clear
• Ensures work is completed per published schedule
• Organizes and manages staffing levels to ensure adequate support for production needs
• Monitors and makes adjustments to controllable costs for shift (i.e. overtime, operating supplies)
• Completes Leader Standard Work practices, including frequent line walks

Continuous Improvement

• Operates with Excellence by engaging team members to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, eliminate waste, remove barriers, and build a sense of ownership and pride
• Facilitates team processes, including problem solving and issue resolution

Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Leads or participates in EHS & Quality investigations and determines appropriate corrective action
• Ensures employees comply with established Standard Operating Procedures
• Knowledge of process safety and personal safety principles

Administration & Communication

• Documents and completes administrative requirements timely and efficiently
• Effectively communicate and implement site directions and messages to team ensuring the work alignment is clear

Schedule Flexibility

• Able to provide coverage on weekends, evenings, nights, and holidays as scheduled, on a regular basis; Able to work overtime as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, military, or similar setting
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and operations
• Knowledge of process safety and personal safety principles
• Experience using digital tools and systems
• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous people leadership experience preferred
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

Hours and Shift

This is a day shift leadership position supporting a continuous manufacturing operation. The First Line Leader is expected to maintain a regular presence on the production floor and will be required to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, holidays, and overtime, to support business needs, production requirements, and employee development.
