Responsibilities

Pharmaceutical Manufacturing | Onsite

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Manufacturing Supervisor to lead our 2nd shift production team in a fast-paced pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This critical leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production goals are achieved safely and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, a passion for developing teams, and a commitment to maintaining cGMP and safety compliance.

What You'll Do:
Production Leadership & Operations
  • Coordinate and supervise daily and weekly manufacturing activities based on production schedules and business priorities.
  • Lead Team Leads and Operators to ensure production targets, quality standards, and operational objectives are consistently achieved.
  • Prioritize work activities and coordinate with other supervisors and departments to ensure seamless execution of manufacturing schedules.
  • Monitor productivity, identify process improvements, and drive operational efficiency.
Compliance & Quality Oversight
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are performed in accordance with batch records, SOPs, protocols, and cGMP requirements.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of manufacturing documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Take corrective actions to prevent deviations and maintain audit readiness.
  • Initiate and support investigations, deviations, and change controls as required.
  • Oversee the execution of:
    • Scale-up batches
    • Exhibit batches
    • Characterization studies
    • Validation batches
    • Cleaning verification and validation activities
Team Development & Training
  • Train and mentor employees on manufacturing procedures, SOPs, and compliance requirements.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build confidence, engagement, and respect through a positive and energizing leadership style.
  • Ensure team members understand and support operational excellence initiatives.
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
  • Apply technical expertise to resolve routine and complex manufacturing challenges.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and support risk-based decision-making.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced efficiency.
  • Effectively build alignment and consensus when addressing difficult operational issues.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment by ensuring adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow DEA Controlled Substance SOPs and immediately report violations or concerns to management.
  • Maintain compliance with FDA regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Work Schedule:
  • 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:15 PM - 11:45 PM

Work Environment:

This role operates within a manufacturing, production, and laboratory environment and may involve exposure to:

  • Moderate to high noise levels
  • Dust, fumes, odors, gases, and airborne particles
  • Manufacturing equipment and machinery
  • Industrial and production-related hazards

Strict adherence to safety procedures and PPE requirements is required at all times.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pushing, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift, move, and/or carry 50-75 pounds.
  • Ability to navigate manufacturing, warehouse, laboratory, and office environments.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including:
    • Respirators
    • Safety glasses/goggles
    • Safety shoes
What You Bring:
Education & Technical Skills
  • High School Diploma, GED, Trade School, or Vocational School Diploma required.

  • Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, including:
    • Granulation
    • Blending and mixing
    • Compression (AWC machines)
    • Coating
    • Encapsulation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Experience:
  • Minimum 7 years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience required.
  • Prior leadership experience required.

The presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $75,000 to $87,500. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan, and may be eligible for the Long Term Incentive Plan. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs which include medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; disability insurance; 401(k) savings plan; flexible spending accounts; and the employee assistance program. Employees also receive various paid time off benefits, including vacation time and sick time.
