Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree in Diesel Technology, etc. is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in diesel/heavy equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to Kinder Morgan insurance requirements.
  • TWIC credential may be required.
  • Drug screen, background check, and other clearances may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise maintenance activities for Berkeley Terminal mobile equipment and diesel shop operations.
  • Schedule, assign, and monitor work for mechanics, technicians, contractors, and service providers.
  • Review maintenance requests and establish repair priorities.
  • Ensure safety and efficiency in all maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical direction and troubleshooting support for mobile equipment repair.
  • Supervise terminal assets maintenance and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Coordinate outside service providers for specialized repairs and inspections.
  • Monitor contractor performance, safety compliance, and on-site time.
  • Support employee development through training and feedback.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, quality workmanship, and safe work performance.

What We Are Looking For

Responsible for supervising maintenance personnel, coordinating daily repair and maintenance activities mobile equipment, supporting preventive maintenance compliance, managing third-party vendors, and ensuring all equipment is maintained in an operationally ready condition.

The Maintenance Supervisor will provide direct oversight of mechanics, technicians, contractors, and service providers assigned to mobile equipment maintenance.

What You Will Do
  • Supervise and oversee daily maintenance activities for Berkeley Terminal mobile equipment and diesel shop operations.
  • Schedule, assign, and monitor work for mechanics, technicians, contractors, and third-party service providers.
  • Review maintenance work requests, service requests, and work pending items to help establish repair priorities.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved scopes of work.
  • Provide technical direction and troubleshooting support for mobile equipment repair.
  • Responsible for supervising maintenance activities related to terminal assets including, but not limited to, Front-end, Material Handlers.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance activities are performed as scheduled.
  • Support the development, improvement, and execution of preventive maintenance
  • Ensure all Kinder Morgan employees, contractors, and vendors work safely and comply with all required safety policies and procedures.
  • Manage third-party vendor and contractor work performed on site.
  • Coordinate outside service providers for specialized repairs, inspections, equipment Vendor rebuilds, diagnostics, and warranty work.
  • Monitor contractor performance, work quality, safety compliance, and time on site.
  • Review contractor scopes of work and ensure work is completed as requested.
  • Coordinate contractor safety requirements before work begins.
  • Work with vendors to obtain technical support, repair recommendations, parts information, and service schedules.
  • Support invoice review by confirming work completion, labor hours, materials used, and service accuracy.
  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and technical guidance to diesel shop maintenance personnel.
  • Support employee development through training, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Serve as a trainer or technical resource for maintenance staff and equipment operators.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, quality workmanship, and safe work performance.
  • Ensure employees maintain regular, dependable attendance and meet performance expectations.
  • Participate in employee evaluations, development plans, and disciplinary processes as required.
  • Maintain a high standard of quality while fulfilling all duties of the position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
What You Need
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two-year technical degree in Diesel Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, Automotive Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful maintenance experience in diesel, heavy equipment,
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to Kinder Morgan insurance requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential, or TWIC, as required.
  • Must be able to pass company drug screen, background check, and other applicable clearances.
