Kinder Morgan is seeking a skilled mechanic to overhaul and repair gasoline and diesel fleet equipment including cranes, forklifts, trucks, and backhoes. You will diagnose electrical and hydraulic systems, perform preventive maintenance, weld and fabricate parts, and maintain records.
Must read schematics, work independently under supervision, and meet safety requirements. TWIC card and ability to work in adverse conditions are required.
This is skilled mechanical equipment repair work involving overhaul and repair of gasoline and diesel powered automotive stock, heavy equipment and related components. The range of tasks include equipment service, tire repair, up fit vehicles with specialized equipment, modify and fabricate equipment and parts, weld broken items, obtain parts, maintain tools and keep the shop area in a clean and orderly condition and in compliance with all Company policies and regulatory requirements. Occasionally, employees may be expected to provide direction and training to other Kinder Morgan personnel assigned to assist in the repair and servicing of equipment or provide technical guidance to less experienced employees. Assignments are received in the form of work orders or oral and written instructions identifying the needed repair or service. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general guidance of the Maintenance Manager or Supervisor and is reviewed for quality and timeliness.
Position Requirements:
Perform skilled mechanical repair and overhaul work on various types of fleet equipment such as cranes, forklifts, automobiles, trucks (both light and heavy duty), gasoline and diesel engines, manlift, heavy equipment such as backhoes, front loaders, graders, street sweepers, and small equipment, along with all other types of powerdriven equipment in accordance with standard trade practices.
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, including temperature extremes, for extended periods of time.
Must be able to secure and maintain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (Twic Card)
