The Supervisor in the Maintenance Department will lead the team, fostering a culture of teamwork and cooperation among major processing segments and maintenance staff across mill sites. A successful candidate will elevate maintenance practices, support production goals, and solve problems while maintaining safety and productivity.

Qualifications

• Experience leading maintenance teams in an industrial setting.
• Strong safety mindset and commitment to safe work practices.
• Ability to coach, train, mentor, and document performance and training.
• Proven ability to coordinate with multiple departments and maintenance staff.
• Strong problem solving and root-cause analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety and lead by example.
• Coach, teach, and train team members across maintenance activities and coordination with other departments.
• Attend daily huddles to support maintenance and production goals.
• Conduct weekly Gemba Walks with Plant Manager and others as needed.
• Create and track maintenance metrics, drive continuous improvement.
• Align team schedules with equipment availability and production needs.
• Foster pride, ownership, and trust within the department and across operating areas.
• Analyze causes of issues and implement corrective actions for recurring problems.

Vaagen Bros. currently employs over 175 employees.

The primary role of the Supervisor position in the Maintenance Dept. is to lead the team, creating a culture of teamwork and cooperation between major processing segments and integration of operating personnel and maintenance staff. A successful candidate will be able to elevate company practices, achieve production goals, and problem solve, while working closely with team members across all mill sites with a continued focus on safety, and productivity.

Job Description

• Promote safety to the team members and be an example of taking the lead in putting safety 1^st^
• Coach, teach, and train team members - including documentation, disciplinary, hiring, training, project management, maintenance, schedules, and coordination with other departments
• Attend a variety of daily huddles to assist in supporting maintenance and organization goals
• Weekly Gemba Walks with Plant Manager, occasional Gemba Walks with other team members
• Creating, tracking, and achieving maintenance metric goals
• Ensures team members schedules align with equipment availability
• Creates pride, ownership, and trust within the department and amongst operating departments
• Analyzes causes and implements corrective action on repetitive or major problems
