Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking an experienced Lab Supervisor to lead the Transfusion Services team on days. The role focuses on daily operations, staff supervision, and quality service in a dynamic laboratory setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in medical technology or biology/chemical science, ASCP or AMT certification, and at least three years of laboratory experience, with transfusion experience preferred and leadership experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in medical technology or Biology/Chemical Science is required.
• ASCP or AMT certification is required.
• Minimum of 3 years laboratory experience is required.
• Transfusion experience is preferred; leadership experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for daily operations in Transfusion Services.
• Coordinate work, ensure quality service, and supervise staff in assigned areas.
• Facilitate staff management in a multi-skilled, multi-functional environment.
