Job Summary

The IT Supervisor serves as the on-site IT/IA Lead (PWS Level 3) and is a working supervisor responsible for both leading assigned IT personnel and actively performing technical work supporting Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD). The position provides hands‑on troubleshooting, systems and network administration, infrastructure maintenance, service restoration, and technical problem resolution while overseeing reliable, secure, and documented IT operations. The supervisor assigns and prioritizes work, mentors personnel, and works alongside the team to resolve complex incidents and maintain mission‑essential services. As the primary on‑site operational IT point of contact, the position coordinates with the IT Manager, Corporate IT, Government representatives, the ISSM, Army enterprise organizations, and vendors. The position reports to the IT Manager and exercises delegated day‑to‑day authority subject to company, contract, and Government approvals and security boundaries.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on-site IT/IA operations as a working supervisor; assign and prioritize work, supervise and mentor assigned staff, maintain qualified coverage, assess performance, and personally assist with technical tasks and escalations as mission needs require. Support hiring, onboarding, workforce planning, annual Government‑directed training, certification and access tracking, hands‑on technical mentoring and evaluations, vendor coordination, procurement inputs, and Government‑directed customer familiarization training.
  • Perform and oversee hands‑on technical support across network, server, endpoint, communications, and related IT infrastructure environments. Diagnose complex faults, work directly with personnel to restore services, monitor tickets and outages, initiate support within 30 minutes of initial loss of service, and coordinate required PCO/ACO notifications and restoration updates through authorized channels.
  • Coordinate and, within authorized duties, perform technical cybersecurity and information‑assurance support, including approved patching, vulnerability remediation, STIG/IAVM actions, access‑control support, security incident response, inspections, and documentation. Work with the ISSM and Army enterprise organizations; do not independently modify Government‑managed security controls.
  • Personally perform and coordinate preventative and remedial maintenance, systems and LAN administration, network troubleshooting, equipment installation and configuration, approved upgrades, backups and recovery activities, testing, engineering plans, and infrastructure cutovers. Supplement staff capacity and resolve escalated technical issues while following Government change‑control and approval procedures.
  • Maintain and verify configuration, asset and license accountability, network diagrams, system documentation, change and maintenance records, operating procedures, training records, and evidence supporting contract deliverables and Government reviews; perform technical documentation work as needed.
  • Serve as the primary on‑site operational IT liaison; communicate availability, outages, risks, technical corrective actions, and resource needs; provide hands‑on technical input to required PWS reports, briefings, engineering documentation, and other deliverables through the IT Manager and authorized Government channels.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, workforce planning, annual Government‑directed training, certification and access tracking, hands‑on technical mentoring and evaluations, vendor coordination, procurement inputs, and Government‑directed customer familiarization training.
KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)
  • Broad working knowledge of IT service management, operational leadership, incident and problem management, change and configuration management, and Government technical documentation. This includes LAN/WAN and telecommunications infrastructure, Windows systems, Active Directory, virtualization, storage, backups, applications and databases, endpoint support, asset management, and enterprise interfaces.
  • Understand cybersecurity and information‑assurance practices, including DoD 8570/8140 role requirements, access control, vulnerability and patch management, STIG/IAVM compliance, security incident escalation, audit readiness, and the division of responsibilities between local contractor staff, the ISSM, and Government‑managed enterprise security services.
  • Ability to direct cross‑functional IT teams, prioritize mission‑critical issues, coordinate troubleshooting and restoration, enforce approved change procedures, and maintain accurate operational, personnel‑qualification, training, configuration, and asset records.
  • Must be able to coordinate Government‑approved installations, testing, cutovers, and recovery activities; support PWS reporting and contract deliverables; communicate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders; mentor employees; and elevate significant risks to the IT Manager.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, ticketing systems, and technical documentation/project tools is required. The employee must safeguard sensitive, proprietary, controlled, and Government information.
  • The employee must remain technically proficient and willing to perform daily hands‑on IT work alongside assigned personnel, including complex troubleshooting, network and systems administration, endpoint support, infrastructure maintenance, and approved technical changes. The employee must balance supervisory obligations with direct technical execution, identify when specialist or Government escalation is required, and comply with delegated access and change authorities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree (AA) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field Required
  • Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, certifications, and relevant experience may be considered in accordance with company and contract requirements.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience (PWS Level 3 IT/IA Lead) Required
