Karmanos Cancer Institute, part of McLaren Health Care, seeks an Imaging Supervisor to oversee daily operations of the imaging section, ensure compliance with standards, and support department efficiency. The role includes planning schedules, staffing, and acting as a technical resource for imaging staff.
The supervisor will monitor testing, lead quality control, participate in hiring, and drive improvements to service delivery while maintaining regulatory adherence and patient safety.
The McLaren system includes 12 hospitals across the state, ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers, a 730-member employed primary and specialty care physician network, commercial and Medicaid HMOs covering more than 242,000 Michigan lives, home health, infusion and hospice providers, pharmacy services, a clinical laboratory network, and a wholly owned medical malpractice insurance company. McLaren operates Michigan’s largest network of cancer centers and providers, anchored by the Karmanos Cancer Institute, a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center. Supervises technical and non-technical activities of the assigned clinical imaging service section(s) ensuring testing operates efficiently and effectively and complies with all system and regulatory agency standards. Provides input into the development of department policies and procedures. Ensures imaging services personnel maintain current knowledge of imaging techniques, procedures and equipment operation. Assists in meeting the business, financial, customer, service quality and regulatory requirements of the department. Serves as a technical resource for department personnel.
2. Plans daily work schedule and assignments ensuring that work is done and reported promptly and accurately.Supports manager in preparing schedules and arranging coverage.
3. Takes initiative to assume departmental responsibilities daily, when scheduled or in the case of staffing shortages.
4. Ensures testing operates efficiently and effectively, in accordance with all system and regulatory agency standards, by monitoring department turnaround times; investigating and implementing corrective action; monitoring inventory and ordering supplies.
8. Makes suggestions to manager for improved work methods and ways to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and solve operational problems.
9. Performs other related duties as required and directed.
