Job Overview
The Supervisor, FSQA Manufacturing guides day-to-day food safety activities across Baldor's manufacturing facilities — Fresh Cuts, Golden Meat, and Pierless Fish — providing direction and leadership to Food Safety associates and team leads. This role ensures Baldor Specialty Foods personnel work in an environment consistent with regulatory food safety standards and best practices, including FDA, USDA, state and local regulatory requirements, and certification standards such as SQF, Organic, and Kosher. The Supervisor oversees the day-to-day execution of food safety programs, plans, policies, and procedures to reduce risk for Baldor customers, employees, contractors, and visitors, ensures adherence to proper processing controls, conducts inspections, and provides education, training, and feedback to Food Safety and applicable departments across assigned facilities. This role summarizes and communicates relevant updates and measures to the Sr. Manager, FSQA Manufacturing and other leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure implementation of and day-to-day operational compliance with Baldor food safety programs across assigned facilities, including adherence to FDA (including FSMA), USDA, state, local, and NY State regulatory requirements, and certification standards such as SQF, Organic, and Kosher.
- Serve as backup point of contact for food safety inspections from FDA, USDA, Agricultural and Markets, SQF, Kosher, QAI, and customer food safety audits.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring — formally and informally — to Food Safety associates and team leads across assigned facilities.
- Develop, implement, and execute components of Baldor's food safety policies and procedures with the Food Safety Team across assigned facilities.
- Conduct recurring internal GAP assessments against FSMA and Seafood HACCP requirements at assigned facilities, and lead resolution of identified corrective actions.
- Determine root cause of food safety occurrences and apply standard food safety principles and practices to implement solutions.
- Ensure adherence to food safety programs — SQF, GMPs, and Preventive Control standards — across Fresh Cuts, Golden Meat, and Pierless Fish.
- Serve as an alternate point of contact and support the Kosher program, Organic program, and SQF inspections for assigned facilities.
- Investigate and implement corrective actions resulting from internal audits, regulatory visits, and third-party audits at assigned facilities, documenting root cause and completion for PCQI review and closure by the Sr. Manager, FSQA Manufacturing.
- Support on-site implementation of new equipment and technology at assigned facilities — including installation verification and training coordination — as directed by the Sr. Manager, FSQA Manufacturing.
- Authority to stop any process across assigned facilities that does not meet established food safety standards, CCPs, or prerequisite program requirements as defined in Baldor's Food Safety Programs.
- Support recall and mock recall execution, as well as product holds resulting from complaints or investigations, at assigned facilities, including lot identification and product segregation, under the direction of the Sr. Manager, FSQA Manufacturing.
- Demonstrate a strong and supportive presence across assigned manufacturing facilities, maintaining effective relationships with leaders, peers, vendors, and others.
- Deliver food safety and quality training at assigned facilities, supporting training content and programs led by the Sr. Manager, FSQA Manufacturing.
- Support leadership decisions and follow through on team responsibilities.
- Assist in any other duties or projects assigned by Food Safety leadership.
