Job summary

Hudson Regional Health is a newly unified healthcare network serving Hudson County. We seek a dedicated Food Service Supervisor to coordinate on-site food production and retail program activities, ensuring timely, high-quality service across patient meals and dining areas.

The role involves supervising a nutrition team, mentoring staff, and upholding strict food-safety standards. This full-time position includes opportunities to contribute to quality improvements and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• One to three years’ supervisory experience in hospital food and nutrition required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise food and nutrition team and assist with training, mentoring, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Oversee tray line operations, dining room service, meal delivery and retail service to ensure timely and high-quality service.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, infection control practices, and facility policies.
• Monitor food, beverage, and equipment temperatures and address any variances promptly.
• Assist with inventory management, supply ordering, audits, and departmental documentation.
• Ensure proper food storage, quality control, and safe equipment operation.
• Support orientation and development of newly hired staff members.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned.
• Performs all other related duties.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Food Service Supervisor plans, coordinates, directs and controls, under direction of the director, all activities

related to the food production and retail programs. Assumes authority and responsibilities during Food Service

Director and Manager absence.

Full Time Exempt/Non-union

Monday-Friday, Mid-shift, weekends based on operational needs

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For

• Associate's degree required.
• One to three years’ supervisory experience in hospital food and nutrition required.

• Ability to apply a participative approach to leading staff, to coordinate and prioritize tasks, and to develop budgets with a complete understanding of facility needs and requirements

• Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office,Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Health system or hospital background
