Job summary

MilliporeSigma in Indianapolis is seeking a Facilities Manager with at least 4 years of experience to operate, maintain, and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lab exhaust systems.

You will monitor BAS and critical equipment, manage CMMS work orders, supervise vendor contracts, lead emergency response, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 while keeping accurate records and supporting administrative reporting.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 4+ years of facilities management experience.
  • Familiar with backup power systems (generators, UPS) and commercial HVAC.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and modify various facilities drawings (P&ID, one-line diagrams, equipment maps).

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and laboratory exhaust systems.
  • Monitor BAS, fire alarms, sprinklers, UPS, and generators.
  • Use CMMS to schedule maintenance, track repairs, manage handyman requests, and source parts.
  • Supervise third-party vendor contracts and oversee facility maintenance projects.
  • Lead emergency response teams for urgent facility incidents and after-hours needs.
  • Perform regular building inspections and prepare for inclement weather.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes; maintain ISO 9001/13485-related records.
  • Complete administrative reporting, including monthly updates and reconciliations.

Your Role

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • HVAC, Mechanical & Laboratory Systems: Operate, maintain, and repair HVAC equipment, plumbing, electrical infrastructure, and laboratory exhaust systems to ensure continuous operational safety.
  • Building Automation & Life Safety: Monitor and operate Building Automation Systems (BAS), fire alarms, fire suppression, sprinklers, UPS systems, and generators (including fueling management).
  • Work Order & Inventory Management (CMMS): Utilize the CMMS to schedule preventive maintenance, track breakdown repairs, manage handyman requests, and source required parts and materials.
  • Contractor & Project Oversight: Supervise third-party vendor contracts, oversee facility maintenance services, and manage assigned operational projects.
  • Emergency Response & On-Call Coverage: Lead emergency response teams for urgent facility incidents and provide support for critical after-hours building needs.
  • Routine Inspections & Facility Readiness: Perform regular building inspections to identify corrective maintenance, complete handyman tasks, and prepare the site for inclement weather.
  • Compliance, Quality & Safety Standards: Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal codes while maintaining equipment records to satisfy ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 requirements and safety protocols.
  • Administrative & Financial Tracking: Complete administrative reporting, including monthly CR-360 updates and semi-monthly P-Card reconciliations, along with other assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications
Who You Are:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 4+ years’ experience in facilities management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiar with backup power systems (generators, UPS).
  • Experience with commercial HVAC systems (air cooled chillers, boilers, air handlers, fan-powered terminal units).
  • Ability to read, interpret, and modify various types of facilities drawings (P&ID, one-line diagrams, equipment maps, etc.).

Pay Range for this position: $93,000 - $140,600 / year

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other prerequisites.
