Job Summary

Summary/Objective

The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for providing preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance to ensure Cameron Hospital and its facilities are maintained safely and effectively. This position repairs, adjusts, maintains, modifies, operates, and installs various systems, utilities, equipment and related items. This role is a working supervisor position which includes delegating responsibilities, directing activities, and assigning tasks to facility team members.

Essential Functions
  • Adds value as a key member of the facilities team; understands regulatory compliance, maintenance strategies, and excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrates ability to use and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of repair supplies and materials.
  • Maintain effective and professional communication with hospital staff and vendors
  • Participates in ongoing training and education as required and assigned.
  • Follow and enforce DNV and CMS regulations.
  • Perform and delegates repairs to air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, ventilating, fire protection systems, emergency power systems, hardware, and fixtures. Performs and delegates facility maintenance to include plumbing, mechanical, electrical, carpentry and painting.
  • Oversee and conduct assigned Physical Environment inspections and routine regulatory physical checks (ex: exit/emergency light inspections, fire extinguisher inspections, generator runs, pressure checks, gauge readings, eye wash inspection checks)
  • Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assess the risks for safety and implement appropriate precautions. Comply with appropriate and approved safety standards.
  • Oversee the performance and completion of monthly/weekly preventive maintenance on equipment in alignment with the preventative maintenance program.
  • Work with the Director of Facilities in requesting, obtaining, and selecting contractors/vendors for special projects.
Qualifications
Experience
  • Five years of experience as a General Mechanic or a General Engineer is required.

  • Mechanical knowledge of equipment operations and techniques of repair.
  • The experience and ability to manage multiple tasks and activities at one time and to direct and coordinate the activities of others.
  • Building Automation (BAS) experience required.
  • Experience troubleshooting a wide variety of mechanical equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating emergency situations and determining a safe and appropriate solution to issues as they arise.
  • Experience with boilers, steam systems, plumbing, compressors, pumps, motors, fans, and controls required.
  • Familiarity with Building codes, NFPA, and life safety regulations.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree of plant Maintenance related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Boiler Operator's License preferred

Supervisor Responsibilities
  • Department operations oversite and delegation of responsibilities to facility team members.
  • Oversee and delegates tasks to team members as appropriate to maintain and optimize facilities daily operations and timely completion of work orders. Communicates with requesters as needed to support timely completion.
  • Assists in coordination and oversite of vendors and equipment servicers performing work onsite.
  • Assists in sourcing tools, materials, and parts as needed for work completion
  • This role is not part of the standardized on-call maintenance schedule. They will operate as part of the escalation chain. This means offering support and guidance over the phone and coming in when issues arise that require additional resources or increased support.
  • Participate in project assessments and equipment review for construction and renovation projects.
