Job summary

Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Full Time Supervisor for Environmental Services. The role oversees Associates, ensures compliance with policies and regulations, and coordinates ongoing training and quality assurance to maintain a sanitary hospital environment.

The position requires leadership skills and healthcare EVS experience, with duties including scheduling, training, and performance improvement. Shifts are 3:00pm to 11:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or EVS, preferably in healthcare.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise environmental services Associates and ensure staff are knowledgeable of policies and regulations.
• Coordinate compliance orientation and ongoing department-specific risk training.
• Monitor activities and report non-compliance to Compliance Officer for evaluation.
• Respond to offenses, assist investigations, and implement corrective actions.
• Assist Director with organizing, directing, and supervising department functions.
• Maintain sanitary, orderly hospital environment in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Oversee staffing: selection, training, scheduling, and assignment of personnel.
• Ensure achievement of customer satisfaction goals and supervise equipment/ supplies maintenance.
• Conduct a comprehensive quality assurance program as directed.

Job description

• Full Time Supervisor - Environmental Services
• Shift: 3:00pm - 11:30pm (Monday-Friday)

What you will do:

• Is knowledgeable of and ensures that supervised Associates are knowledgeable of applicable current compliance policies and procedures, laws and regulatory developments including their responsibility to comply with applicable laws, regulations and Holy Cross Hospital policies as a condition of employment, as well as reporting mechanisms such as the corporate compliance hotline.
• Ensures that Associates complete compliance orientation and ensures and arranges for ongoing specific risk training (applicable to the department) on a regular basis throughout the year.
• Provides appropriate assistance regarding monitoring techniques to reasonably assure compliance in supervised functional areas, including the submission of reports of suspect non-compliance to the Compliance Officer so that further evaluation can be performed.
• Responds timely to detect offenses, assists in the investigation and in the development and implementation of disciplinary and/or corrective action initiatives.
• Assists the Director with organizing, directing, coordinating and supervising functions and activities
• to maintain the hospital environment in a sanitary and orderly condition that complies with regulatory

• Assists with selection, training/orientation, scheduling and assignment of departmental personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must demonstrate the ability to speak, read, comprehend, and write the English language.
• Experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or EVS, preferably in healthcare.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management abilities.
• Ability to lift supplies/equipment and tolerate the physical demands of cleaning.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Moderate physical efforts are required. Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching.
• Occasional pushing or pulling.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs. minimum.
