Supervisor Environmental Services - 2nd Shift Evenings

Join us as a Supervisor Environmental Services - 2nd Shift Evenings at Advocate Health.

Location: Illinois Masonic Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center in Lakeview, recognized as a four-time Magnet hospital, undergoing a $645 million expansion.

Shift: 2:30 pm to 12:00 am, every 3rd weekend.

The evening supervisor is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and role modeling to ensure high-quality patient care in a safe, cost-effective, and customer-focused environment. The role involves working closely with the manager, internal customers, and team members to deliver exceptional service.

Major Responsibilities
  • Ensure infection prevention practices for a safe environment.
  • Adhere to all applicable guidelines and regulations.
  • Monitor and improve service quality to meet desired outcomes.
  • Provide high standards of cleanliness and customer service.
  • Foster positive relationships to ensure high internal customer satisfaction.
  • Drive operational outcomes aligned with site/system scope of service.
  • Manage staffing, workflow, and throughput for maximum productivity.
  • Oversee departmental resources to minimize waste.
  • Handle human resources responsibilities including coaching, performance reviews, hiring, and disciplinary actions.
  • Comply with the organization's Ethical Conduct policies.
Qualifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 6 months if not already held.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Typically 2 years of experience in environmental services.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong management and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication skills across all levels.
  • Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Ability to stand for up to 80% of the workday; capable of sitting, walking, lifting, squatting, and bending.
  • Occasional pushing/pulling up to 500 lbs. with mechanical assistance; lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to dust, dirt, chemicals, radiation, blood, or bodily fluids.
  • Operate necessary equipment.
