Job summary

Texas Health Resources seeks a Nursing Supervisor (RN) – Emergency Department at Texas Health Fort Worth. This full-time night-shift role leads bedside care in a 100-bed ED within a Level I Trauma Center and magnet designation.

You will supervise staff, coordinate patient flow, ensure nursing standards, and partner with physicians to deliver exceptional care. Requirements include Associate Degree in Nursing, Texas RN license, BCLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC/ATCN, and at least two years of leadership

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• RN licensure in Texas or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing.
• BCLS, ACLS, PALS within specified timelines.
• TNCC/ATCN within 12 months of hire.
• 2+ years as a clinical nurse with leadership experience.
• Current ED experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides bedside leadership and clinical expertise to improve quality of patient care.
• Assist manager/director with HR functions: evaluations, coaching, mentoring, recruitment, orientation.
• Help manage department budget and productivity; control costs.
• Promote patient- and family-centered care with hourly rounds and leader rounds.
• Collaborate with physicians and health-care team to ensure safe individualized care.

Full-time, 36 hours weekly, Nights

Department Highlights

• 100-bed Marion Emergency Care, 75,000 square foot Level I Trauma center
• For minor care needs, the ED offers a Quick Care area designed to expedite care and patient experience. Those requiring more extensive workups will be taken to one of the diagnostic rooms.
• Patients with critical injuries or illnesses are treated in one of 22 Emergent Care rooms, including three resuscitation rooms for the most severe trauma cases.

Here’s What You Need

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• CLIAFE – Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required
• BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• ACLS – within 90 days required
• PALS – within 90 days required
• TNCC or ATCN – within 12 months of hire required
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
• 2-years’ experience as a clinical nurse with previous experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role (i.e. Charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor) required
• Current ED experience

What You Will Do

• Provides bedside leadership and clinical expertise to improve quality of patient care
• Responsible for assisting the manager/director with human resource management to include Evaluations, coaching, mentoring, recruitment, retention, education and orientation.
• Works with manager/director to control costs and manage department budget and productivity.
• Fosters an environment to promote patient and family centered care through purposeful hourly rounding, bedside shift report, updated care boards, and leader rounds.
• Collaborates with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to promote safe individualized care as well as promoting accountability in enhancing the patient experience.
• Assimilates leadership responsibilities on the unit and throughout the entity and/or system.
• Commits to autonomous maintenance and continuous improvement of competence and serves as a role model to other healthcare team members
