What You’ll Do

In this role, you will ensure Otter Tail Power’s transmission and distribution system is effectively planned to meet customer needs while maintaining compliance with applicable regional reliability standards and processes. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining a ten‑year transmission plan; preparing supporting documentation for future transmission projects through the annual capital budgeting process; and representing Otter Tail Power in regional transmission planning studies and stakeholder groups.

You will serve as a central point of contact for MISO and SPP transmission studies, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all required data requests and compliance with applicable NERC Planning Standards. This role also represents Otter Tail Power’s technical interests in negotiations related to transmission contracts, supports the internal distribution interconnection process in accordance with state requirements, and acts as a technical resource to internal stakeholders across the organization. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with neighboring utilities and external partners is essential to success in this position.
