Job summary

University Hospital in Newark, NJ is seeking a Supervisor Distribution to plan, organize, and supervise day-to-day operations of General Store/Peri-op Warehouse and Shipping & Receiving Mail.

You will oversee staff and coordinate receiving, storing, inventory, issuing, and distributing mail and medical supplies for multiple units and carts; ensure accuracy and safety in stock management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with two years of stockroom/warehouse experience.
• Preferred one year of supervisor or lead capacity.

Responsibilities

• Oversees personnel, receiving of goods, storeroom inventory, and supply chain distribution.
• Assists with stock placement to ensure orderliness and safety; guards stock against loss and damage; maintains cleanliness.
• Verifies requisitions for accuracy and monitors inbound/outbound orders for proper processes.
• Performs daily rounds to check expirations and ensure staff fulfill responsibilities.
• Oversees Shipping & Receiving/Mail Services activities to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Overview

About the Role

The primary purpose of the Supervisor Distribution position is to assist in planning, organizing, and supervising the day-to-day operations of General Store/Peri-op Warehouse and/or Shipping & Receiving Mail.

Supervises and coordinates the activities of the assigned area along with staff involved in receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and distributing a wide variety of mail and medical supplies.

Responsibilities

• Oversees personnel, receiving of goods, storeroom inventory, and supply chain distribution throughout University Hospital including but not limited to nursing units, disaster carts, code carts, isolation carts, etc.
• Assists with the placement of stock in appropriate bins, shelves, racks and other receptacles and areas to ensure orderliness and safety; ensures that all necessary precautions are taken to guard the stock against spillage, deterioration, loss, theft, and fire and maintains the cleanliness of stockrooms.
• Verifies requisitions for accuracy, and monitors orders coming in and going out of the warehouse to ensure proper processes have been followed.
• Performs daily rounds on the nursing units, routinely checking expiration dates, and ensuring that Materials Management personnel are fulfilling their job responsibilities.
• Is responsible for overseeing incoming and outgoing Shipping & Receiving/Mail Services activities at University Hospital to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

Required

• High school Diploma or GED required plus two (2) years of experience in stockroom/warehouse work, including obtaining, recording, storing, safeguarding, and issuing various types of equipment, materials, mail and supplies and keeping of detailed records thereof.

Preferred

• One (1) year of experience in supervisor or lead capacity preferred.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is SH/18C - $25.21 - $30.96 - $36.68 in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
