Job summary

TEEMA is seeking a Veteran Supervisor Discipline Engineer – I&C in Charlotte, NC to provide technical leadership across multiple EPC projects, reviewing designs, calculations and deliverables while guiding staff engineers and designers.

The role leads I&C discipline during planning, execution and delivery, interfaces with clients and vendors, ensures regulatory compliance and quality, and mentors junior engineers to promote excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License Required.
• 10+ years of engineering experience supporting nuclear power, conventional power generation, utility, industrial, or heavy process facilities.
• 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams or serving in a discipline leadership capacity.
• Strong understanding of instrumentation and control system design principles.
• Experience developing and reviewing: P&IDs, Logic diagrams, Instrument loop diagrams, Control narratives, Functional requirements documents, Engineering calculations.
• Familiarity with DCS, PLC, SCADA, and digital control system applications.
• Working knowledge of applicable industry standards, including: ASME, IEEE, ISA, NEC, NRC regulatory requirements (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead and review engineering designs, calculations, specifications, studies, and technical deliverables prepared by staff engineers and designers.
• Serve as the discipline lead for I&C engineering scope during project planning, execution, and delivery.
• Support project managers with engineering resource planning, schedule development, budget forecasting, and project execution strategies.
• Develop and review engineering packages including: Instrumentation specifications, Control system architectures, Logic diagrams, Functional design specifications, Wiring diagrams, Instrument loop drawings, P&IDs, SCADA and DCS integration documentation.
• Oversee instrument selection and specification including pressure, temperature, flow, level, analytical, and control valve applications.
• Lead development and review of control philosophies, cause-and-effect matrices, alarm management strategies, and system functional descriptions.
• Interface directly with clients, utilities, contractors, regulators, and equipment vendors.
• Review vendor submittals, technical proposals, and equipment documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, quality requirements, and regulatory requirements.
• Support proposal development, scope definition, estimating efforts, and technical presentations for new project opportunities.
