Washington University in St. Louis is seeking an Animal Care Supervisor to assist in directing the daily care and oversight of research animals in our facilities. You will ensure adherence to SOPs, animal welfare regulations, IACUC policies, and safety procedures while supervising staff.
Reporting to the Facility Manager, you will manage up to 15 direct reports, train staff on SOPs, coordinate daily activities, and perform census and quality assurance tasks to support high-quality animal care.
Assist in the oversight of facility-wide husbandry operation activities to ensure efficient and effective performance as directed by the Facility Manager. Responsible for confirming adherence to DCM Standard Operating Procedures, Animal Welfare Regulations, IACUC policies, and quality care for animals. Participates in ensuring that all standard operating procedures are current and accurate and that occupational safety procedures are observed. This position reports to the Facility Manager and performs duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
