Our client is seeking a results-driven Supervisor, Control Systems – Operations Services to lead the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of control systems supporting our conventional pipeline and district operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring control systems infrastructure and communications networks operate safely, securely, and efficiently.
As a member of the Operations Services leadership team, you will lead a team of Control Systems and Telecommunications Technologists, drive system reliability, and oversee lifecycle management of critical assets. You will collaborate cross-functionally and with external partners to support operational excellence, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day Control Systems operations,including planning, prioritizing, and schedulingmaintenance, upgrades, and support activities.
- Provide strong leadership, coaching, and performancemanagement to Control Systems and TelecommunicationsTechnologists.
- Oversee workforce planning, including resourceallocation, succession planning, and capabilitydevelopment.
- Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution ofall Control Systems activities.
- Drive employee development through structuredcoaching, career development planning, and trainingprograms.
- Lead performance management processes, includinggoal setting, reviews, and continuous feedback.
- Foster a high-performance, safety-focused cultureemphasizing accountability, engagement, and continuousimprovement.
- Ensure team roles, responsibilities, training plans,and objectives align with departmental and corporategoals.
- Facilitate regular team and safety meetings topromote effective communication and alignment.
- Ensure reliable operation and maintenance of PLCs,RTUs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and communicationsinfrastructure.
- Manage the full lifecycle of control systems assets,including performance monitoring, maintenancestrategies, and obsolescence planning.
- Ensure alignment with corporate cybersecuritypolicies and industrial control system (ICS)standards, proactively mitigating risks.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators(KPIs) such as system reliability, availability, andincident response.
- Support development of in-house technical expertiseacross Operations, Control Room, SCADA, LeakDetection, Engineering, and Commercial teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, andregulatory requirements; develop and maintain safework practices and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Operations,SCADA, Engineering, IT/ICS, Commercial) to supportreliability and business objectives.
- Provide technical governance and leadership forcontrol systems in capital projects, including designreviews, HAZOPs, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and startup.
- Support budgeting, cost management, vendorrelationships, and Management of Change (MOC)processes; identify and implement technologies to improve efficiency, reliability, and data visibility.
- Provide technical leadership during incidents andoutages to ensure timely resolution and minimaloperational impact.
- Partner with the Supervisor, Control Systems (LongHaul) to ensure alignment of standards, practices, andteam culture.
Education, Skills and Experience
- 10+ years of experience in pipeline operations,control systems, or similar industrial environments,with strong knowledge of pipeline operations,maintenance practices, and supporting businessprocesses.
- Post-secondary diploma in InstrumentationEngineering Technology, Electrical EngineeringTechnology, or related field.
- Journeyman certification in a relevant trade ispreferred.
- Strong expertise in industrial control systems(ICS), SCADA, telecommunications networks, and fieldinstrumentation/electrical systems.
- Experience with maintenance management systems(e.g., Maximo) and operational support tools.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical teams in afield or operational environment with accountabilityfor safety, reliability, and cost performance.
