Job summary

Adecco Permanent Recruitment is seeking an experienced Controls Systems Technologist to provide plantwide technical support for electrical, instrumentation, automation, controls, and high‑voltage systems in a fast‑paced industrial environment.

The role requires hands‑on troubleshooting, ownership of complex equipment issues, and collaboration with maintenance and engineering teams. Relocation sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Industrial Electronics Technology or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of equivalent experience may substitute for the degree.
• Strong background in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, or Industrial Maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced troubleshooting support for electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems.
• Troubleshoot inverters, VFDs, Coriolis flowmeters, analyzers, and loss‑in‑weight feeders; other critical instrumentation.
• Support and maintain DCS and PLC‑based control systems.
• Perform installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of high‑voltage systems up to 13.8kV.
• Work with transformers, generators, circuit breakers, switchgear, controls, underground conductors, and power distribution equipment.
• Splice and terminate high‑voltage multiphase power cable.
• Safely prepare high‑voltage equipment for contractor work, including de‑energizing systems and installing protective grounds.
• Respond to emergency situations, including power outages and electrical system failures.
• Support MOC, PHA, and Root Cause Failure Analysis activities.
• Update electrical and instrumentation drawings using Bluebeam and support equipment documentation.
• Monitor equipment obsolescence and recommend replacement strategies and critical spare parts.
• Develop maintenance and troubleshooting procedures and provide technical training to E & I personnel.
• Utilize SAP for work notifications, inventory, and spare parts activities.
• Support shutdowns and capital/maintenance projects involving critical electrical and controls equipment.

We’re seeking an experienced Controls Systems Technologist to provide plantwide technical support for electrical, instrumentation, automation, controls, and high-voltage systems. This is a hands‑on role for a strong troubleshooter who thrives in a fast‑paced industrial environment and can take ownership of complex equipment issues and projects.

What You’ll Do

• Provide advanced troubleshooting support for electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems
• Troubleshoot inverters/VFDs, Coriolis flowmeters, analyzers, loss‑in‑weight feeders, nuclear level devices and other critical instrumentation
• Support and maintain DCS and PLC‑based control systems
• Perform installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of high‑voltage systems up to 13.8kV
• Work with transformers, generators, circuit breakers, switchgear, controls, underground conductors, and power distribution equipment
• Splice and terminate high‑voltage multiphase power cable

• Support Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), and Root Cause Failure Analysis activities

• Develop maintenance and troubleshooting procedures and provide technical training to E & I personnel
• Utilize SAP for work notifications, inventory, and spare parts activities

Required:

• Associate degree in Industrial Electronics Technology or a related technical discipline, military technical training, OR 5–10 years of equivalent experience
• Strong background in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, Controls, or Industrial Maintenance
• Hands‑on experience working with high‑voltage systems up to 13.8kV

Preferred Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in chemical, paper, polymer, or similar process manufacturing
• SAP experience
• OSIsoft PI experience
• Maintenance planning and scheduling experience
• CADD experience
• Experience supporting DCS/PLC systems and industrial instrumentation
