Reporting out of Indianapolis, IN
Supervise, plan, or organize aerial construction efforts through in-house construction teams and contract labor for new construction, maintenance, rebuild projects, and storm restoration. Responsible for in-house productivity, safety, and quality of work within the aerial construction department. Support hiring, training, development, production, and performance management of the aerial construction teams and contract labor.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Coordinate with engineers and developers in designing the plant; draw and sketch installation and location of equipment and cable; complete bill of materials (BOM) needed for planned construction.
- Monitor performance of in-house construction teams and contractors, ensuring adherence to agreements.
- Perform site inspections for quality control of in-house and contracted work.
- Monitor daily production and review reports.
- Reconcile invoices with work completed.
- Coordinate permitting and make-ready processes before construction.
- Provide updates on construction progress to management.
- Review and process damage claims, updating relevant parties as needed.
- Establish positive employee relations through effective communication and support.
- Adhere to industry-specific local, state, and federal regulations.
- Follow company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

- Make cable connections in tight spaces.
- Operate test equipment (signal level meters, ohm meters).
- Work from heights (poles, roofs).
- Stand for 50-70% of work time.
- Handle small components and wires.
- Use handheld communication devices.
- Dig in various soils.
- Drive company vehicles responsibly, with a valid CDL.
- Read system layouts from blueprints.
- Basic mathematics and electronics knowledge.
- Knowledge of NEC, NESC, OSHA standards.
- Knowledge of HFC/FTTH construction and architecture.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
- Associate degree in electronics or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Industry certifications (NCTI, SCTE, BCT/E).
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
- CDL license.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of OSP construction experience in telecom.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in project supervision in HFC/FTTH construction.
- Supervisory or leadership experience (1+ years).
