Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Coding Supervisor to assist the HIM/OPG Coding Manager in monitoring, evaluating, and training coders in ICD-10/PCS, CPT and HCPCS Level II guidelines. The role involves direct supervision of 12-20 FTEs across Coding/Abstraction and conducting data quality reviews for various encounters.

The position requires an Associate's degree (or higher) in health information or a related field, excellent communication skills, and 3-5 years of coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Coding Manager to supervise and train coders in ICD-10/PCS, CPT and HCPCS Level II coding guidelines
• Directly supervise 12-20 FTEs across the system in Coding/Abstraction
• Perform data quality reviews on professional, outpatient and inpatient encounters
• Monitor outpatient reports and top procedures and APCs in the facility
• Evaluate documentation to identify incomplete or inconsistent records
• Provide training on ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS Level II guidelines
• Collect and prepare data for specialized studies
• Attend coding and reimbursement workshops and report to staff
• Monitor unbilled accounts for outstanding and uncoded outpatient encounters
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Monitors outpatient reports and top 2 5 medical, significant procedure, surgical service and ancillary APC's assigned in the facility
• Evaluates quality of documentation to identify incomplete or inconsistent documentation
• Provides training to health care professionals in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS Level II coding guidelines and practices
• Collects and prepares data for specialized studies
• Attends coding and reimbursement workshops and reports to staff on contents
• Monitors unbilled accounts reports for outstanding and un-coded outpatient encounters
• Performs other duties as assigned.
