Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle seeks a Clinical Services Supervisor to oversee daily nursing operations and patient care delivery within your assigned area, working with the Clinical Manager/Director to supervise clinical staff.

You will organize, plan, and direct clinical activities to ensure high-quality care, mentor new staff, and maintain 24/7 nursing coverage focused on patients' medical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Two years' experience in the same or similar clinical specialty.
  • One year as charge nurse or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of nursing principles, standards and protocols.
  • Ability to lead, communicate, and problem-solve in a team environment.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships and manage care delivery.
  • Understanding of managed care reimbursement and financial/clinical analytics.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Washington and BLS certification.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Clinical Services Supervisor at Bailey-Boushay House, you will oversee daily nursing operations and patient care delivery within your assigned area, collaborating with the Clinical Manager/Director to supervise clinical staff.

Your daily responsibilities include organizing, planning, and directing clinical and management activities to ensure seamless, high-quality care, helping maintain patient care continuity, and supporting administrative, educational, and quality initiatives. You will also mentor new staff and ensure comprehensive, culturally sensitive, 24/7 nursing care that prioritizes patients' medical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, emphasizing quality of life.

Success in this role requires collaboration with personnel to maintain and implement current standards of care and practice for our specialized patient populations, including those with and without AIDS requiring end-of-life care for conditions like ALS, Huntington's disease, or other life-limiting illnesses.

Job Requirements
Required
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Two (2) years experience and clinical knowledge in the same or similar clinical specialty
  • One (1) year charge nurse or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, standards, techniques, protocols and tools/equipment of the nursing profession in general, and of the assigned clinical nursing specialization
  • Leadership skills to include the ability to serve as role model, initiator in problem-solving, decision-making, delegating, and communicating of ideas and information
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by the duties of the position
  • Skills in strategic planning, financial, statistical analysis, and managed care reimbursement
  • Knowledge of FHS policies and standards, and legal regulatory/accreditation requirements applicable to matters within designated scope of responsibility
  • Ability to use office equipment and automated systems/applications/software at an acceptable level of proficiency
  • Familiar with contemporary health care trends and able to prioritize in a changing environment
  • Supervisory skills to include developing clear performance expectations, hiring, coaching, conflict management, counseling, resolving performance problems, and facilitate group process
  • Ability to express ideas and convey technical information effectively in verbal and written communications
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain flexibility, cooperation, and participate in cross-organizational performance improvement activities
  • Ability to read, understand and communicate in English sufficient to perform the duties of the position
  • Ability to use office equipment and automated systems/applications/software at an acceptable level
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by the duties of the position
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Washington State Board of Nursing
  • Current healthcare provider BLS certification
Preferred
  • BSN or Bachelors’ Degree in a related field
  • Certification in clinical specialty
