Job summary

Guma-Warnii Seabreeze is seeking a Trade Qualified Supervisor to manage mine site construction crews across WA's mining, civil, and construction projects. The role demands strong leadership, safety discipline, and the ability to coordinate multi-discipline teams on refurbishment, upgrades and structural works.

Roster is 8/6 FIFO from Perth with client-driven locations. Applicants must have carpentry trade qualification and Schedule 26 supervisor qual, plus Rio Tinto inductions.

Qualifications

  • Available to commence within 4-6 weeks.
  • Rio Tinto inducted – Essential (BHP, Roy Hill, FMG advantage).
  • Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor Qual – Essential.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising construction crews on mine sites.
  • Strong construction background following Carpentry Trade qualification.
  • Able to manage multiple work fronts and crews.
  • Experience with client interaction, daily reporting, pre-starts, SWMS/JHAs and site compliance.
  • Strong understanding of mine-site safety requirements.
  • Flexible with project locations and work requirements.
  • Must be prepared to work an 8/6 roster (flexibility with rosters necessary due to client requirements/scope of work).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise construction activities for a diverse range of projects and clients across the mining, oil & gas, commercial, and construction industries, predominantly in the civil discipline, but also including Structural, Mechanical, Dewatering, and HDPE and Steel Piping disciplines.
  • Supervise and lead allocated project personnel, directing them to complete works safely and in compliance with company and client procedures, engineering drawings and specifications, project budgets, timeframes, and other project requirements.
  • Planning and controlling personnel, equipment, and materials to ensure construction activities are delivered safely and efficiently.
  • Conducting quality inspections, supervising staff and subcontractors, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and implementing processes that ensure projects meet required safety, quality, budget, and schedule standards.
  • Liaise with senior management, internal teams, clients, suppliers, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure all aspects of the project are appropriately planned and executed safely.
  • Provide support to senior management as projects progress from tender handover to execution. This may include project and logistics planning, procurement coordination, and operational support.
  • Other duties as required to get the job done & keeping the team safe and working efficiently.

Job description

Guma-Warnii Seabreeze is a Pilbara Aboriginal Business that works in the Mining, Civil, and Construction industries. Guma-Warnii Seabreeze is the result of a valued and enduring relationship that began on Kuruma Country years ago.

With our continued growth, we are currently manning up ahead of multiple Projects across WA, Construction Projects on Mine Sites (Gold & Iron Ore). Due to the varied nature of the Scope in the Pipeline, we are requiring multi skilled Trade Qualified Supervisors to manage the teams and deliver the Projects efficiently.

Projects include Refurbishment/upgrades, Fit outs, Concrete, Detailed Earthworks and NPI structures. Some of these projects are back to back, and working concurrently, so the ability to work on a number of packages at once is essential.

Rosters are 8/6, FIFO Ex Perth, flexibility on Rosters required due to the nature of Client requirements and the Scope of work. We will be recruiting new Carpenters also, and are taking recommendations for quality crew to join the team with the Supervisors.

Your contribution to the success in the project will include:
