Job Responsibility:
Under the direction of the Assistant Manager, Beverage, the Supervisor, Beverage is responsible for the efficient scheduling and oversight of subordinate employees to continuously improve the quantity and quality of work done up to our Yaamava' Brand Standards and to ensure efficient and economical work operations. Area of responsibility is the beverage areas and assigned bars. Supervisory functions include a range of duties and responsibilities for planning, organizing, training, audits, and dealing effectively with employee-management concerns.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assists with day-to-day operation of the Food and Beverage venues by ensuring the team delivers a best-in-class service to all guests while always following Yaamava' Resort & Casino service standards. Oversees all cash management and cash registers to ensure proper cash management practices and procedures are followed. Responsible for maintaining professional customer service standards as stated in our mission, vision and values contained in the Food & Beverage Departmental Handbook. 2. Prioritizes the training and understanding of team members in beverage preparation and service, responsible alcohol service, inventory control system, safe food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; administers performance management and disciplinary actions as required. Ensures all beverage orders are served efficiently and in accordance with Yaamava' Brand Service Standards and Health department regulations. 3. Determines materials, equipment, and facilities needed for efficient operations. Ensures all beverage inventory is purchased, received, rotated, stored, and issued in accordance with operational standards and processes to ensure cost and quality goals are met. Manages and expedites beverage product to receiving venues to ensure efficient flow of beverage production. Completes all inventory related audits and logs including usage, spillage and complimentary. 4. Ensures the cleanliness, organization & preparedness of immediate workspace & adjacent areas. Monitors and controls the sanitation of beverage venues to ensure a healthy and safe work environment to comply with Yaamava' Resort & Casino policies and procedures and quality service standards. Ensures all preventative maintenance and maintenance of beer systems, beer walk-in and bar equipment. 5. Works to achieve the objectives of company personnel programs and policies and effectively resolves complaints, grievances, and other matters involved in the day-to-day administration. Notifies superiors of any internal or external problems or concerns. 6. Collaborates with venue leadership to develop and execute department initiatives that build sales, profitability, and cost control. Ensure the communication and execution of department-wide fiscal and operational goals. 7. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree in Food Service, Hospitality, Business Management or related field required.

  • Minimum two (2) years' food and beverage experience in a high-volume venue with high quality food, extensive beverage offering, with a high energy atmosphere required.

  • Minimum two (2) years food and beverage supervisory experience in a high-volume venue with high quality food, extensive beverage offering, with a high energy atmosphere preferred.

  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

  • Must have a thorough understanding of local, state, and federal regulations for the sale and distribution of alcohol and cigarettes, as well as a thorough understanding of all San Manuel Gaming Commission Regulations and the California Department of Alcohol Beverage Control standards.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook is preferred.

  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language.

  • Must be able to perform simple mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

  • Must be able to manage cash transactions accurately and securely.

  • Must be able to provide friendly and efficient service to guests and team members, addressing their needs and resolving issues.

  • Must be able to have clear and effective communication with guests and team members.

  • Must be able to work under pressure by staying calm and efficient during busy period(s).

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

  • Must obtain and maintain a current Food Handler's Card.

  • Must obtain and maintain Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification.

  • Must obtain and maintain ServSafe certification.

  • Select One of the Following for Driving Responsibilities: Driving Responsibilities: Role requires regular commuting between locations. A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance with minimum liability limits is required. Role will not operate or drive Tribe-owned vehicles or patron vehicles.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS - ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and working environment described here are representative of those that an employee encounters and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled Casino & Resort setting.

  • Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.

  • Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.

  • Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.

  • Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

  • Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

  • Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.

  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.

  • Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.

  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.

  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.

  • Must present a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance in accordance with departmental policy.

  • The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
