Job summary

Menzies Aviation is seeking a Ramp Supervisor to oversee unloading and loading of luggage, freight, and cargo on/off commercial aircraft. The role includes driving small specialized vehicles, heavy lifting, and ensuring safety regulations are followed.

The position requires leadership of ramp agents and mentorship of new staff. Responsibilities include managing shift resources, training, interviews and performance reviews, plus maintaining accurate reports and timecards.

Qualifications

• Prior Ramp/Airline experience required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid US driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to lift 70 lbs repeatedly.
• Flexible to work variable shifts including weekends/holidays.
• Pass FBI background check and obtain US Customs Seal.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lead agents; allocating ramp agent resources as needed.
• Move cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals, air cargo facilities, and other aircraft.
• Ensure ramp personnel adhere to company safety regulations.
• Mentor and train new employees.
• Interview, hire, and train employees; appraise performance; handle disciplinary actions as required.
• Complete shift reports and sign timecards.
• Assist in preparing performance evaluation forms.
• Prepare disciplinary incident and termination reports.
• Assist in baggage handling area.
• Conduct shift briefings to keep staff organized and informed.
• Read and interpret weight/balance loading instructions, labels and manifests.
• Operate motorized equipment.

Role Purpose

The Ramp Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising the unloading and loading of luggage, freight and cargo on and off commercial aircraft. The Ramp Supervisor will also drive and operate small specialized commercial vehicles. This position will require heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and stretching.

What you will be doing

• Supervise lead agents; allocating ramp agent resources as needed
• Move cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals, air cargo facilities, and other aircraft
• Ensure that ramp personnel adhere to established company safety regulations
• Perform as a mentor to other employees and provide training to new employees
• Some responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems as needed for violations of company policy
• Complete shift reports and sign timecards
• Assist in the preparation of performance evaluation forms
• Prepare disciplinary incident and or termination reports
• Assist in the baggage handling area
• Conduct shift briefings to ensure staff is organized and informed
• Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags
• Operate motorized equipment

• To report any significant deficiency in our products, materials and documents
• Has a duty to suggest any improvements to working practices, especially those relating to Safety and security
• Must have read and signed the Station Quality Manual, Emergency Response Procedures Manual and the Station Security Manual.
• Must have high school diploma, GED
