Job summary

Airgas is seeking a Supervisor Accounting for a hybrid role in Independence, OH. The position oversees month-end close, GL analytics, journal entries, and accounting reports, coordinating with ALABS and internal teams.

The role requires at least four years of financial reporting/ accounting experience and supervisory capabilities, with SAP proficiency and strong analytical communication skills. A CPA/MBA is a plus and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required.
• CPA and/or MBA in Finance/Accounting is a plus.
• Minimum four years financial reporting / financial accounting experience; supervisory exposure is a plus.
• Solid leadership qualities including team management and people development.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of Division/Region financial statements and related internal/external reports.
• Supervise month-end close processes in coordination with ALABS and perform GL reconciliations and analyses.
• Manage significant sales accruals not based on standard reports and COS/OPEX accruals.
• Address localized accounting topics such as real estate and personal property taxes.
• Prepare/ad hoc accounting reports and support Airgas Financial Reporting on unusual items.

In Particular you will:Ensure the accuracy & integrity of the Division/Region financial statements and other information reported to internal and external users. Direct responsibility will include: * Supervising accurate financial and statistical close processes, in conjunction with ALABS, including general ledger account reconciliations and other analyses within established timelines. * Significant sales accruals that are not based on a standard report/calculation. * Significant COS & OPEX accruals, that are not based on a standard report/calculation. * Localized accounting topics including, but not limited to, real estate taxes and personal property taxes. * Ad-hoc entries arising from the month end close review process * Provide input and support to Airgas Financial Reporting on unusual items as well as Line 5 (share plans, asset disposals, settlements) and Line 9 (restructuring, etc.) topics. * Proactively, and/or as requested, develop and direct the preparation and communication of ad hoc accounting reports and analysis ## \\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_## ## Are you a MATCH?* Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field* CPA and/or MBA in Finance/Accounting a plus* Minimum of four years financial reporting / financial accounting experience, public accounting experience and exposure to medium-to-large companies is a plus* Minimum three years supervisor level accounting and financial reporting experience in positions of increasing responsibility is a plus* Solid leadership qualities including team management and people development skills* Advanced experience with SAP software* Skilled project management skills required* Strong analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written* Ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting divisional, local, and corporate management and demands.
