Job summary

Kohler is seeking a Supervisor, 3rd Shift to direct a team of hourly associates in Union City, TN. You will ensure production targets are met within budget and safety policies are followed.

You must have a BS degree and 5+ years in manufacturing, with experience in ISO environments and lean practices. Day 1 benefits apply; salary range is shown and eligibility for a performance bonus is noted.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate efforts with Team Leaders through daily and weekly productivity and production reports to ensure maximum efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
• Determine the performance of raw material in production by observation and inspection and take corrective action to ensure quality.
• Initiate corrective action and inform Team Leaders of potential problem areas.
• Ensure preventive maintenance and proper operating procedures are followed through visual inspection and data reviews.
• Review safety and accident reports and ensure safety requirements are met.
• Ensure communication of safety and health matters and prompt corrective action when needed.
• Determine weekly manpower needs and initiate appropriate action.
• Review subordinate performance against goals and suggest improvements for coordination.
• Recommend promotions, employment changes or changes in compensation to upper management.
• Receive and process complaints following company policy.

Opportunity

Supervisor will have the responsibility of directing a groupof hourly associates within a specific department.

Responsible for products being manufactured in accordancewith established production processes, design and technical specifications; fordirecting the work force in such a manner as to meet approved productionschedules within the budgeted cost; and for enforcing the plant’s employeerelations policies and procedures.

Specific Responsibilities

• Coordinatethe efforts with Team Leaders through daily and weekly productivity andproduction reports to ensure maximum efficiency while maintaining qualitystandards.
• Determinethe performance of raw material in production by observation andinspection at various points in the process and take necessary correctiveaction to ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Initiatecorrective action, verbally and written, on a daily basis where goals arenot being met. Inform Team Leaders of potential problem areas.
• Throughvisual inspection of equipment and review of parts usage, production dataand down time, determine if preventive maintenance and proper operatingprocedures are being followed. Take appropriate action as indicated.
• Ensurethorough review of safety and accident reports, inspection reports andvisual observation, that safety requirements are being met.
• Throughperiodic meetings with subordinates, assure safety and health matters arecommunicated and prompt corrective action taken when needed.
• Determineweekly manpower needs by reviewing workload requirements and initiateappropriate action.
• Reviewperformance of subordinates against goals and suggest improvements toensure a full coordinated effort.
• Recommendto members of upper management promotions, employment, dismissal, orchange in compensation of subordinates.
• Receiveand process complaints of all subordinates by reviewing the facts asprescribed by the company policy for discussion and review with uppermanagement.

Skills/Requirements

• B.S.Degree is required.
• Minimumof 5 years experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment withemphasis on high volume, high mix manufacturing process (Glass Fabricationexperience a definite asset).
• Experience in an ISO/world class certifiedmanufacturing environment preferred.
• Provenproject management/cross functional relationship skills.
• Experiencein Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
• Analyticaland structured approach to problem solving.
• Leadershipskills.
• Stronginterpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with allmembers of the organization

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation.
