Responsibilities

• Supervise employees and help delegate operations schedule to ensure proper work area coverage.
• Evaluate personnel performance and inspect assigned areas to ensure proper work performance.
• Find and define problems, resolve issues, and make recommendations to management to improve quality and exceed customer expectations.
• Report issues to the Operations Manager/Operations Coordinator.
• Address customer concerns and inquiries and report new or changing job/work orders.
• Track and evaluate purchasing activities, supplies and equipment usage and ensure labeling and storage comply with standards.
• Provide on-the-job training for staff in job-specific tasks.
• Participate in trainings to ensure effective communication of information to supervisors, customers and employees.
• Carry out management responsibilities in line with company policies.

Job Summary

The Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the janitorial staff cleans and maintains the client’s premises to the standards set by FlagShip Holding Company.

Essential Functions

1. Supervise employees and help delegate operations schedule to ensure proper work area coverage.
2. Evaluate personnel performance and inspect assigned areas to ensure proper work performance. This requires hands‑on support and the ability to perform work when necessary. This may include, but is not limited to: dust mopping, sweeping, stripping/refinishing, carpet scrubbing, servicing restrooms, window washing, etc.
3. Find and define problems, resolve issues, and use these to make appropriate recommendations to management, staff, and/or customer contacts to exercise continuous quality improvement and to exceed customer expectations.
4. Report any issues, concerns or discrepancies to the Operations Manager/Operations Coordinator.
5. Address customer concerns and inquiries and report any new or changing job/work orders.
6. Track and evaluate purchasing activities, supply and equipment usage and repairs. Ensure appropriate labeling, dilution and storage requirements are conducted in accordance with company, customer and OSHA standards.
7. Provide on‑the‑job training for staff/employees in job‑specific tasks.
8. Participate in company and customer training to ensure effective communication and distribution of information to supervisors, customers and employees.
9. Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies, customer’s rules and regulations and applicable laws when needed.

Education and Work Experience

• High School diploma or GED.
• Three to five years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in the janitorial/facilities field.

Work Environment

• Fast‑paced office environment.
• Safety glasses required while performing certain tasks.
• High sense of urgency.
• Small office environment.
• The noise level is usually moderate.
• Exposure to a combination of normal office and shop environments.
• Regular exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise.

Physical Demands

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
